AHRQ: EPC Evidence Based Reports: The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Evidence Practice Centers (EPC) review all relevant scientific literature on clinical, behavioral, and organization and financing topics to produce evidence reports and technology assessments (GCU, 2016).

JBI EBP: A recognized global leader in EBP, and includes more than 3,000 records across seven publication types. These include Evidence Summaries, Evidence-Based Recommended Practices, Best Practice Information Sheets, Systematic Reviews, Consumer Information Sheets, Systematic Review Protocols, & Technical Reports (GCU, 2016).

Unfortunately, sources found on the internet lack quality control or assurance in that the information published may be questionable or of any quality. McKibbons and Marks wrote, that a systematic review identified 47 rating schemes for evaluating the quality of internet sites which provide health information, and all were incompletely developed and gave no information on test reliability and validity (1998). Because of this, it is very important to consider the source, and double check findings on the internet with reliable and reputable resources such as the EBP data bases as previously discussed.

The theorists and other researchers consider whether this theory helps answer questions that arise in practice. This is where your theory is used in by a widening group of researchers. For example, graduate nursing students request the tool you developed while testing your theory.

The fourth and last stage is evaluation. This is where philosophical debate occurs as the concepts are applied through evidenced based practice in the act of providing nursing care. Your spiritual needs assessment survey must include a minimum of five questions that can be answered during the interview. During the interview, document the interviewee’s responses.

The transcript should include the questions asked and the answers provided. Be sure to record the responses during the interview by taking detailed notes. Omit specific names and other personal information through which the interviewee can be determined.

Part II: Analysis

Write a 500-750 word analysis of your interview experience. Be sure to exclude specific names and other personal information from the interview. Instead, provide demographics such as sex, age, ethnicity, and religion. Include the following in your response:

He says he sees his private physician approximately every three months and has been on his current medication for the past five years. He denies any current problems. He tells the nurse that his blood pressure is always this high—sometimes higher. He says his doctor has tried many medications and found none to be more effective than the present regimen. Knowing that hypertension can have devastating long-term complications, the nurse wonders whether she should disagree with this man’s primary physician. After all, Nestor did not come to the clinic for primary healthcare, but merely to have his prescription filled.
