Description of LASA:

Choose an industrial/organizational (I/O) topic of interest. A nonexhaustive list of research topic suggestions includes leadership, job satisfaction, organizational culture, measuring performance, work–life balance, compensation, selection, recruitment, retention, employee engagement, training, and emotional intelligence.

Once you have selected your topic, you will conduct a literature review on that topic. Locate three scholarly peer-reviewed articles (published within the last five to seven years) that have investigated your research topic:

  • One of the articles needs to have employed an experimental research design.
  • One of the articles needs to have employed a quasi-experimental research design.
  • One of the articles needs to have employed a mixed-methods research design.

Tasks:

Read, summarize, analyze, and critique each of the articles. For each article, your analysis should:

  • Summarize the results of the study.
  • Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the research.
  • Discuss the appropriateness of the research design for the study, the reliability, the validity, sampling methods, and any potential bias.
  • Identify any ethical or diversity issues.

Having reviewed the same topic from a variety of research design approaches, reflect on what you have learned about the specific industrial/organizational (I/O) topic itself, as well as the impact that the research method employed had on the knowledge gained from the study. Be sure to include these reflections in the conclusion of your paper.

Write a 7- to 9-page paper based on your literature review, utilizing the three scholarly sources you review. Make sure you employ proper grammar and spelling and apply current APA standards for writing style to your work.

Use the following headings to organize your paper:

  • Research design methods defined:
    • Experimental
      • Strengths and limitations
    • Quasi-experimental
      • Strengths and limitations
    • Mixed methods
      • Strengths and limitations
  • Industrial/organizational (I/O) topic area of interest
  • Experimental design study summary:
    • Results
    • Experimental design study analysis and critique
      • Strengths and weaknesses of the study
      • Ethical, legal, and/or diversity considerations
  • Quasi-experimental design study summary
    • Results
    • Quasi-experimental design study analysis and critique
      • Strengths and weaknesses of the study
      • Ethical, legal, and/or diversity considerations

Reflecting On Your Writing

Reflecting on Your Writing: Instructor Feedback

(Reflecting On Your Writing)

As a scholar and part of the intellectual community, you will want to understand ways to integrate feedback to be able to join a larger conversation. A significant part of scholarly writing is revising based on your colleagues’ feedback, and now that you have a substantial amount of writing; it is time to reflect on the ways you have incorporated your Instructor’s feedback.

This week’s Learning Resources will help you examine rhetorical strategies for placing yourself in the scholarly conversation, such as using the personal pronoun, “I.” For this Discussion, you will reflect on how your voice fits into the scholarly conversation—beginning with the conversation between your Instructor and yourself. This initial Discussion is part of a continual conversation during the remainder of this course as your Instructor and yourself revise, review, and reflect on your writing.

To prepare for this Discussion:

  • Review      the Learning Resources on audience and sentence structure.
  • Reflect      on your ways you have incorporated your Instructor’s feedback and your      part in the scholarly conversation. You may even choose to consider how      you approached this specific Assignment in relation to scholarly voice and      transitions.

By Tuesday 12/26/2017, in APA format with at least one reference,

Post a 1- to 2-paragraph reflection on your use of your Instructor’s feedback throughout the past few weeks of this course and your participation in the scholarly conversation. (Note: You may choose to reflect specifically on how you will apply scholarly voice concepts in this week’s Assignment.)

Providing Health Services in a Rural Community: A Report on Project Feasibility

(Report on Project Feasibility)

Question description

Providing healthcare services to residents in rural areas has presented increased challenges that include access and cost. For your Capstone Project, you will be using a case study that focuses on Pocahontas Memorial Hospital located in Pocahontas County, West Virginia.

Pocahontas Memorial Hospital (PMH) would like to offer a comprehensive satellite health clinic within Pocahontas County. You have been contracted to prepare a report for the PMH Board of Directors to guide them in determining the feasibility of opening a satellite clinic as part of a strategic initiative for their annual strategic management planning process.

Your report should be organized according to the following structure and contain the elements described:

Introduction: This is where you introduce your audience to what this report will cover.

  • Description of PMH and potential project
  • Discussion of whether the organization’s mission, vision, and goals support the project

Assessment: This is your evaluation of various factors that affect the feasibility and development of the project.

  • Internal and external stakeholders involved and their buy-in for this project
  • Internal and external environmental challenges (e.g., access for consumers, medical equipment, technology, community involvement required)
  • A market analysis
  • A SWOT analysis

Recommendations and Implementation: This is where you detail your recommendations and strategies for implementation. Your recommendations should be based directly on what you outlined in your assessment.

  • Strategies for attracting healthcare professionals and staff
  • Feasibility for development of a satellite clinic
  • Value-adding support and resources (e.g., equipment, technology, etc.)
  • Develop strategic initiatives
  • Short- and long-terms plans for implementation of strategic initiatives
  • Brief discussion of how you will evaluate and benchmark this project

Conclusion: This brief summary should pull together your assessment and recommendations and leave the audience with a clear sense of what can be done.

Requirements:

  • Be 14–15 double-spaced pages in length, not including the cover or reference pages or appendices. Including introduction and conclusion
  • Include the strategic thinking maps and content you created for the earlier module assignments. They may be added in addition to/or as a part of the 14-15 pages of content or moved to the Appendix section.
  • Be formatted according to APA Requirements. Support your positions, claims, and observations for your statements with full APA in-text citations from a minimum of ten (10) scholarly references.
  • Include full market analysis and SWOT analysis diagrams in the Appendix, but present your narrative discussion of each in the Assessment section of your report.
  • Please no plagiarism and sources should not be older than 5 years.

Self Management Paper

Selected Behavior- Frequency of exercise added to  daily schedule
Self Management Paper

Self Management Paper

1st part– Track baseline data of your selected behavior that you would like to change over a 3-day period.

Use this information in your Self-Management Paper, due in Week 5.

Self Management Paper

Day One Day Two Day Three
Dimensions of measurement
Baseline measurement
Function of baseline behavior

Self Management Paper

2nd part- This cumulative assignment allows you to consider everything you have learned over the past 5 weeks in an attempt to change a behavior of your own. This overall process is similar to what a board-certified behavior analyst would compete with a new client.

Refer to the approved behavior you would like to change, based on your submission to your instructor in Week 3.- Exercise Frequency

Write a 1,400- to 1,750-word paper that outlines an intervention plan for changing that behavior, in which you discuss the following:

  • Describe the target behavior.
  • Outline the dimensions of measurement/baseline measurement.
  • Describe the function of the baseline behavior.
  • Outline the goals of the behavioral change.
  • Propose a behavior intervention plan based on goals.
    • Provide a minimum of 2 antecedent changes.
    • Provide 4 to 5 consequence modifications. Choose consequences based on at least four of the following: positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, negative punishment, positive punishment, and extinction.
  • Describe any potential barriers to treatment, as well as how you would overcome these barriers.
  • Describe the expected outcome if the behavior intervention plan was implemented and followed.

Format your paper according to APA guidelines. Use only peer reviewed articles

The following is my project submission for this project and some information may be useful for this project—

The behavior I have chosen is that of my exercise regime. Currently, I work full-time, homeschool my daughter, and attend online schooling. Due to this, I do not incorporate a lot of physical activity into my daily schedule and considering baseline data this shows my level of exercise is almost nonexistent. By choosing adding exercise to my daily routine as my topic for the self-management project I hope to become healthier. To begin this project, I will need to evaluate my bodies current abilities in regard to exercise and stamina. Determining the best approach at exercise in the amount of time allotted is imperative as well.  For each day of the project a record of which exercises completed, in addition to the amount of time dedicated will be logged. By keeping track of the different exercises and time, I should be able to modify by exercise regime to one that benefits my body and schedule, revising if deemed necessary. By keeping an observable and measurable record, I will be forced to hold myself accountable.

Ethical Analysis: Contemporary Issues

Ethical Analysis: Contemporary Issues

(Ethical Analysis: Contemporary Issues)

3 Page Rough Draft Due By Midnight Central Time!!!!! APA Reference Page

Rough Draft of Final Paper

In this course, you have looked at classical ethical theories of utilitarianism, deontology, and virtue ethics. You have also examined different perspectives on ethical issues introduced by relativism, ethical egoism, and emotivism. For this paper, you will apply these theories and perspectives to a current issue, selected from the list of issues below.

Choose one of the ethical issues from the list to research and write about. It is recommended that you choose a topic you are familiar with or that you have thought about previously, if possible. For example, you might choose an issue that either worries you or enrages you; you might choose one that you have worked on; or you might choose one that relates to recent events in your community.

Possible Issues

  • Corporate executive compensation
  • Corporate contributions to political campaigns
  • Affirmative action
  • The media and its responsibilities
  • Domestic surveillance
  • Whistle blowing in government or in a business
  • Religion in the workplace
  • Pornography
  • Consumer tracking
  • Ethical problems of gambling
  • Progressive taxation rates
  • Immigration
  • Women’s equality

In your paper, you will apply the ethical theories and perspectives to the issue that you select. You do not have to use all six, but you should apply at least two ethical theories and at least one ethical perspective in your paper. Make sure that you write primarily on ethical topics and concepts; do not get distracted by doing analyses that apply political, economic, religious, or legal perspectives. Describe, compare, and apply the ethical theories and perspectives to the topics. Explain your analysis of the issue using these theories and perspectives. What are the ethical issues? Where there breaches of ethical behavior? How could each theory help people think about what constitutes virtuous or ethical behavior?

Your draft must include at least three pages of text plus a title page and a references page. Your draft should include a clear thesis statement that states what you plan to argue. Also include a list of the sources you intend to use. You can also use the Sociology Research Guide located in the Ashford University Library. Format your rough draft according to APA style and properly cite and reference all your sources according to APA format. If you would like to refer to APA samples and tutorials, visit the Ashford Writing Center, located within the Learning Resources tab in the left navigation bar of your online course.
