Software Testing Capstone Work

(Software Testing Capstone Work)

Question description

You and your testing team have been tasked with testing a new benefits application that is being developed. Your company uses a flexible benefits plan, allowing company employees to customer their heal benefit plan based on personal preferences. The benefits application is expected to go live in 3 months.

Your company’s Human Resources department uses a cafeteria-style approach to provide employees with health care benefits. Each September, employees review their current benefits, modify their elections and then sign election forms. Any changes must be entered and tracked in the benefits application. For medical insurance, an employee enrolls with a preferred provider organization (PPO) or health maintenance organization (HMO). The company currently pays the monthly medical premiums for its employees. However, if an employee enrolls in a dental plan or vision plan, the employee pays a modest monthly premium for the optional plan. An employee may carry medical, dental, and/or vision coverage for one or more of his or her family members. In order to carry insurance on a family member, the employee must carry the same coverage. For example, to carry dental insurance on a spouse, the employee must also carry dental insurance on him or herself.

The benefits application must track employee information like employee ID, department ID, name, address information and office extension number. It must also track information about each insurance company to include the company number and company name. Dependent information and their relationship to the insured employee must also be tracked. An employee must be able to request an enrollment form, and Human Resources must be able to update the effective date of the health benefits on the form. In addition, the application must track the health care benefits rates for PPO and HMO, plus dental and vision rates. Benefits rates differ by employee only, employee + spouse, employee + spouse + one child, and employee + family.

PowerPoint Presentation2

Assignment 1: LASA # 2: PowerPoint Presentation2

(PowerPoint Presentation2)

Utilizing the information you compiled for your literature review paper, and the feedback you received from your instructor about the literature review, prepare a 10-15 minute Power Point presentation on your topic, summarizing the key points and conclusions. Be sure to direct this presentation to an audience in the community. For example, if your paper pertained to a topic in developmental psychology, direct your presentation toward parents, or a parenting center. If your topic pertained to substance abuse, direct it toward a community service agency which may use this information for educating teens or parents about preventing drug use, or current clients about treatments and facilities available. Please state in your presentation the specific audience toward whom your presentation is aimed. Include a reference page in APA format, as well as speaker notes and an audio file with your presentation.

Your slides should provide answers to the following questions: (PowerPoint Presentation2)

  • What was your topic?
  • What question did you hope to answer by completing this literature review paper? Explain the practical implications of the conclusions of the literature review and the audience to which they are directed.
  • Given the results of your literature review, what is/are the prevailing argument(s)? In other words, which of those is supported by the existing evidence? Be sure to include full coverage of the arguments, including strengths and weaknesses of each of them, supported by your findings from reviewing the relevant articles.
  • Did the researchers consider multicultural factors in their studies? If not, what factors may be involved? What multicultural factors should future studies include?
  • What ethical issues are related to your topic and/or discussed in the studies you reviewed?
  • How do the conclusions of your literature review relate to the various specialization areas in psychology? Tie them to as many as apply from the following areas: biological, cognitive, developmental, social, personality theory, psychopathology, and applied psychology.
  • How can the conclusions of your literature review inform the population towards whom your presentation is directed? How can they apply this information to their daily lives? What advice or ‘take home message’ can you provide to your audience based on the research you reviewed?
  • What research question could you ask in order to further develop this area of study?
  • Why is your research question important and relevant to the current work being done on your topic?

Your presentation should also follow these guidelines:

  • It should be approximately 10-15 minutes in length.
  • It should be clear, concise, and professional.  Writing should be free of spelling and grammatical errors; it should conform to current APA style (including any in-text citations).
  • It should include graphs, tables, figures, or images illustrating your ideas.
  • There should be a final slide listing references in current APA style.
  • The bulk of the text should be placed in the Notes pages of each slide. Keep the amount of text on the slide, itself, to a minimum.
  • You should record an audio file of your oral presentation. You should also type the text of the speech you would give while showing these slides to an audience should be typed into the Notes area.  If you are unable to use the audio feature, the Notes text will suffice.
  • You can refer to the Power Point tips document provided in the Doc Sharing section of the course.

Submit your presentation to the M5: Assignment 1 Dropbox by Monday, October 19, 2015.

presenting on U.S. healthcare system

presenting on the U.S. healthcare system, health and medicine homework help

(presenting on U.S. healthcare system)

Question description

Final Presentation For your Final Presentation you will be presenting on the U.S. healthcare system. Imagine you are a community health director educating a group of new healthcare professionals on the U.S. healthcare system. You have been asked to create a PowerPoint presentation, which includes the elements listed below: Note: You will be using Part 1 from week three for the first section of the Final Presentation. Please make sure to correct issues and address any recommendations from your instructor’s Week 3 Assignment feedback. Introduction: Include a title slide. Next, include an introductory slide where you introduce yourself and explain what you are about to present. Part I: The U.S. Healthcare System – Define the U.S. healthcare system by addressing the items below:

•Describe the history of the U.S. health care system. Include at least three of the revolutionary factors (e.g., teacher’s union in Dallas, Texas; the American Medical Association; Civil War, and the First Marine Hospital, etc.). Chapter two in our textbook discusses the evolution of our system and is a good resource for this part of your presentation.

•Identify at least one major development from each of the following: financial, legal, ethical, regulatory, and social [i.e., consumer demand]) that transformed the system into what it is today. You may want to revisit the health care timelines available in your course textbook.

•Differentiate the stakeholders and their roles (i.e., health care professionals, clients [patients], government, colleges, and health care agencies.

◦Include the positive and negative contributions of how they affect our health care system. Part II: The Cost of the U.S. Healthcare System

Describe the costs and how they are set (i.e., reimbursement methods, managed care organizations, Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance).

•Explain how technology has affected costs (e.g., EHR, medical research, equipment improvements like MRI, mammography, etc.) and delivery of quality care (e.g., personalized medicine, mobile services like ePrescribing, disease registries, etc.). Part III: The United States Versus Other Health Care Systems—an International Perspective

•Contrast the U.S. health care system with at least one other (e.g., Canada’s universal health care vs. U.S. healthcare or South Africa vs. U.S. health care, etc.).

◦Include at least one positive aspect from the other country’s health care system that you would like to see added to the U.S. healthcare system. Explain why you would like to see this in our system. Part IV: Reforms and Improvements

•Describe any potential reforms and improvements that are currently being discussed at either the local, state, or federal level. Your work must be based upon scholarly research, not media commentary. ◦Examples could include the following:

◾Federal modifications (i.e., Medicare reform, repealing PPACA, universal type system, etc.)

◾State modifications(i.e., Medicaid reform, income tax credits, etc.)

◾Increased consumer controls Note: The PPACA is not an appropriate reform or improvement to be described here because it is already law and not a future improvement. However, if there is a proposal to amend or eliminate, then you can include that potential reform. Conclusion: Future of the U.S. healthcare system

•Explain what you believe the U.S. healthcare system will look like in the next 10 years. Give at least two recommendations for change.

•Address access to care, quality of care, and cost of care including an example of each in your vision of our future healthcare system. Creating the Final Presentation The Final Presentation must: •Be 15 to 20 slides, which includes Part 1, (excludes the title slide and reference slides) and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

•Be presented using Microsoft PowerPoint slide presentation. You have a choice of one of the following options for adding the narrative to your presentation. Option 1 is using voice or Option 2 is adding speaker notes to each slide.

◦Option 1: Recording your voice on each slide. You can view the tutorial using this link: adding and recording voice to each slide. You can also click on the following links to view the Accessibility Statement and Privacy Policy. If you choose this option, you must include your APA formatted citation in the speaker note section of the PPT as well.

◾Note: if you use the voice option, make sure your recordings are clear and concise. It is also important to know that adding voice narrations that are too lengthy and adding graphics may cause your PPT file to be very large (megabytes). You may have trouble loading it to Waypoint. Revisions may be necessary if this occurs.

◦Option 2: Using speaker notes for each slide in the PPT. You can review the tutorial using this link: adding speaker notes to your presentation. You can also click on the following links to view the Accessibility Statement , and the Privacy Policy.

◾Speaker notes are the typed notes that appear below the slide that complement the presentation slides. Whereas the slides will have short bulleted items, the speaker notes will be more detailed. They are essentially what the presenter would say during the presentation to explain each of the bulleted points on the slide. Therefore, it is important that the speaker notes are concise and detailed when explaining the bullet points.

◦It is recommended that PowerPoint Slides contain no more than five bullet points and should not contain more than 5 – 7 words each. Do not type paragraphs or long sentences on the slide. The information that explains each bullet point is conveyed via speaker notes or by recording your voice to each slide.

◦It is required that the Microsoft PowerPoint presentation include the use of a voice or speaker notes. If you choose to use the voice capabilities within PowerPoint, you must include your citations in the speaker notes for each slide.

•Be visually engaging. For assistance with designing the visuals for your presentation, view the video Don McMillan: Life after death by PowerPoint (click on the following links to view the Accessibility Statement or the Privacy Policy) or the PowerPoint Best Practices tool.

•Include a title slide with the following:

◦Title of the presentation

◦Student name

◦Course name and number

◦Instructor name

◦Date submitted

•Address the sections in the order outlined above (Introduction, Part I, II, III, and IV).

•Present the issues with critical thought.

•Use at least two scholarly sources (none of which should be media commentary, at least one should be from the Ashford University Library).

•Document all sources in APA format (including graphics, charts and pictures that may be used within the presentation). Wikimedia Commons is a recommended source for creative commons images (to view the privacy policy, click here).

•Include a separate reference slide formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. If you are unable to access the technology for this assignment due to a documented accommodations on file with the Office of Access and Wellness, inform your instructor as soon as possible. Carefully review the Grading Rubric for the criteria that will be used to evaluate your assignment.

Reflective Ethical Autobiography

Final Project: Reflective Ethical Autobiography

(Reflective Ethical Autobiography)

In the Final Project for this course, you are to develop a reflective Ethical Autobiography, intended to define your ethical perspective as an emerging counselor in training.

In order to understand clearly where you are headed, you must also evaluate where you have been and what has influenced you along the way. It is important to reflect critically upon your own values (and sense of personal/professional ethics) and how you developed these perspectives in order to develop an ethical framework. To help accomplish this goal, the Final Project for this course is an Ethical Autobiography in which you will explore various elements of your life experiences that might influence your future ethical framework.

As you reflect on your journey through this class, some of the course readings may have informed your Ethical Autobiography. You can also make use of outside resources, but much of the paper will be exploring what you bring to the profession and events that may have influenced your ethical lens. This reflective autobiography should have personal meaning to you and should help you understand what being an ethical practitioner means. In this sense, you are writing an intellectual and Ethical Autobiography, that is, who you are as virtue of what you believe, what you do, and what you have read. Think broadly—there are no wrong answers; you are exploring your own world.

You may find the following article helpful, as you begin conceptualizing your Final Project:

  • Bashe, A., Anderson, S. K., Handelsman, M. M., & Klevansky, R. (2007). An acculturation model for ethics training: The ethics autobiography and beyond. Professional Psychology: Research and Practice, 38(1), 60–67.

For Your Consideration: (The points outlined below are intended as prompts for developing the essential elements of your Final Project).

Some examples of questions/issues that you can address:

  • You may share how you developed a sense of right and wrong.
  • Who/what influenced your moral and ethical development?
  • What experiences contributed to your personal and professional beliefs? Are your personal and professional beliefs congruent?
  • What is your idea of right and wrong? Are there absolutes or are there shades of gray? Do the same guidelines apply in all circumstances?
  • What are some of your basic values that guide your work and your life? What experiences have potentially influenced your decision making?
  • What aspects of your personality and work ethic are most compatible with the counseling field? Which aspects are the least compatible?
  • Was there a time, in your personal or professional life, when you felt that your confidentiality was violated, that you were involved in a dual relationship in which you felt uncomfortable, or perhaps an issue resonated unexpectedly with you (e.g., transference)?

Essential Elements (You must address the points outlined below in your Final Project.):

  • Select four counseling issues, describe these issues, and explain potential ethical challenges for addressing these issues in your professional practice.
  • Explain state or region laws or statutes that might apply to these ethical challenges.
  • Reference specific codes of ethics that you ascribe to for your practice and how adhering to ethics and law present challenges for addressing these issues you selected.
  • Explain why this Assignment is meaningful to you.
  • Describe how adhering to ethics and law for professional counseling practice might influence social change.
  • Finally, explain how you have changed because of your work in this class. Describe personal and ethical values you have reexamined because of your work in this course.

You should present your Final Project as a 12- to 15-page (including cover page, abstract, and references—therefore, approximately 10–12 pages of text), double-spaced, APA-formatted paper. Papers can be longer if the purpose of the paper is served, but the quality of ideas and conciseness of the writing should justify the extra length. Also, please proofread your papers to make sure that grammar, punctuation, and other mistakes do not hinder the communication of your ideas.

Your Instructor will evaluate your Final Project according to all four indicators in the  Final Project Rubric, located in the Course Information area.

Furthermore, you will be evaluated on your ability to:

  • Develop your ability to think about, use, and integrate what you have read. You should go beyond just a summary of what you have read. You should also be well balanced in your arguments, and go beyond the obvious (e.g., “we should be aware of ethical issues and follow the ACA Code”) into specifics, gray areas, and more subtle questions.
  • Demonstrate that you have learned something from this course on ethical decision making.
  • Clearly communicate your reflective thinking.

You can find information on scholarly writing in the APA Publication Manual and at the WaldenU Writing Center website.

Influence of Theoretical Frameworks

Explain how theoretical frameworks influence advance.

Influence of Theoretical Frameworks

Question description

Purpose

The purpose of this Assignment is to explore how a theorist explicates his or her philosophy and thoughts behind a theoretical field. As in other fields of study, nursing has a plethora of theorists and theories. These theorists have developed their paradigm over time enriching it with research and dialogue with other theorists.

Directions

You are going to explore how a theorist of your choice created his or her theory. Did it develop as an acorn becoming a mighty oak over the decades? Did it arrive as a burst of light like the big bang as some believe created our universe? Was it developed from a blueprint like a spaceship where thousands of scholars worked together to create a rocket to the moon? In point of fact, how is a theory developed? This is what we are exploring.

You will pick a theorist who interests you, it does not have to be a nurse theorist. You may also choose from other disciplines such as: behavioral, leadership, business, education, technology.

You will become the theorist immersing yourself in the writings from the earliest mentioned to the most current.

As you read, look at how you (taking on the persona of the theorist) developed the theory.

In the first stage, theorizing occurs. This is where you, as the theorist, identify the concepts of what nursing is and is not. Perhaps you questioned what concepts were guiding those in nursing practice and then started to question your role. You started asking yourself, “Where am I in nursing, and where the profession is going? Is there some overarching concept that guides the professional in his or her practice?” This is where you recognize that a theory is needed.

In the second stage, syntax is developed. This is where you will define the terms. Look for changing definitions of terms. Consider, for example, Jean Watson. She starts by defining the word “caring.” Within the last ten years she has refined her terminology changing the term caring to caritas. This demonstrates a growth and maturation from decades of research she and other scholars did to produce the theory of caring.

The third stage is theory testing. Defined as the phenomena behind the theory that are exposed through research. The definitions of terms are refined. The theorists and other researchers consider whether this theory helps answer questions that arise in practice. This is where your theory is used in by a widening group of researchers. For example, graduate nursing students request the tool you developed while testing your theory.

The fourth and last stage is evaluation. This is where philosophical debate occurs as the concepts are applied through evidenced based practice in the act of providing nursing care.

Assignment Details

For this Assignment, you are going to write an article for a nursing journal explaining how you developed your theory through the four stages (theorizing, syntax, theory testing, and evaluation). Your paper must be 3 to 5 pages, not including the title and reference pages.

To view the Grading Rubric for this Assignment, please visit the Grading Rubrics section of the Course Resources.

Assignment Requirements

Public health officials and communities are responsible for investigating infectious disease cases, as well as making sure they control the spread of the disease within the community. Their ultimate goal is to reduce and prevent future occurrences.

For the Unit V Case Study, respond to the following.

  • Describe an infectious disease in your community and how it is transmitted.
  • Discuss two public health programs or interventions in your community that were created to reduce the spread of the infectious disease identified.
  • Explain if these programs have been successful in the community. What would you change or add to improve the intervention programs?

Your case study must be a minimum of two pages in length, excluding the title and reference pages. To support your ideas, use a minimum of three outside sources; one may be the textbook. Additionally, use a source that focuses on your community, such as a newspaper or journal article.

Remember that all written assignments must be formatted using APA style, including in-text citations and references.

Our communities are constantly faced with health crisis due to the increasing burden of chronic disease. Underlying these conditions are substantial health risk factors, such poor nutrition, alcohol abuse, tobaccos exposure and use, and physical inactivity. Engaging the community in healthier behaviors would greatly reduce the risk for chronic disease and death.

Piaget’S Theory Of Cognitive Development DIscussion Sam 250-300

Piaget’s Theory of Cognitive DevelopmentAnalyze Piaget’s theory by contrasting it with competing viewpoints that have specifically challenged Piaget’s theory. Describe the strengths and weaknesses associated with these different perspectives on cognitive development. Based on your personal or professional experience, what evidence is there that Piaget’s theory is relevant or not relevant to the development of 2-year-olds in today’s society?

StudiesReadingsUse your Infants, Children, and Adolescents text to complete the following:Read Chapter 5, “Physical Development in Infancy and Toddlerhood,” pages 158–199. This chapter focuses on how the infant brain and body develop.Read Chapter 6, “Cognitive Development in Infancy and Toddlerhood,” pages 200–243. In relation to this development, pay special attention to Piaget’s theory of infant cognition and the theories and process of language acquisition.Review the Flaws in Thinking and Scenarios table  and select a common flaw in thinking when considering child development and one of the scenarios linked with it in preparation for this unit’s assignment, if you have not done so already.

Contrasting Cognitive Development Perspectives

Cognitive development, the process by which individuals acquire, process, and understand information, is interpreted differently by various theorists. Two prominent perspectives are those of Jean Piaget and Lev Vygotsky.

Jean Piaget’s theory is grounded in the idea that children progress through four distinct stages of cognitive development: sensorimotor, preoperational, concrete operational, and formal operational. Each stage is characterized by unique cognitive abilities and ways of thinking. Piaget emphasized the role of maturation and intrinsic motivation in learning, suggesting that children construct knowledge through interactions with their environment, driven by processes of assimilation and accommodation.

In contrast, Lev Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory posits that cognitive development is largely a social process. Vygotsky argued that children learn through interactions with more knowledgeable others, such as parents, teachers, and peers. He introduced the concept of the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD), which represents tasks that children can perform with guidance but not yet independently. Language and cultural context are pivotal in Vygotsky’s framework, as they shape thought and learning.

While Piaget focused on stages and individual discovery, Vygotsky emphasized the importance of social interaction and cultural tools in cognitive development. Both theories have profoundly influenced educational practices, underscoring the diverse pathways through which children learn and grow cognitively.
