Research paper for history

Research paper for history

(Research paper for history)

Question description

RESEARCH PAPER GUIDELINES One research paper is required for this course. The Research Paper is worth a total of 30% of your grade and is due on the assigned date found on your syllabus! The research paper is of your choice as long as it covers the period that is being cover in the course. The paper will be 10 pages in length, double spaced, using 12 point font, submitted online. This should be similar to any paper you would write for other classes – including a title page, an introduction, body of text, a conclusion, and references/bibliography. APA or MLA format is acceptable.

Proper Citation of Sources. When writing papers which use information from researched sources, it is necessary to provide complete and correct documentation to show the source of all words and ideas which are not those of the student. Failure to cite a source implies that the information used is the original work of the paper writer – a form of stealing known as “plagiarism.” In the college class, plagiarism is grounds for failure, no matter how well written the rest of the paper may be. Do not use first person or contractions when writing. Also, remember that a successful term paper is not one that is written at the last moment, rather it is one that has been thought out, written, edited, and edited some more (you may consider turning in a rough draft or talking with me prior to the due date if you are unsure about how to approach writing the paper).

Make sure you proofread! Nothing detracts from a paper (or grade) worse than a poorly written, mistake-filled paper. When writing this research paper, you should attempt to address the following questions: Comprehensive introduction ( includes who, what, where , and when) with clear thesis statement that answers the question.  Why is this person or event important in American History?  Does this individual or event represent an aspect that helped shape American History?  Would American History be different if not for the actions of this person or the occurrence of the events? (ensure you have a solid conclusion)

Students should not use the encyclopedia or the course text book as the primary source of research. Also keep in mind when writing the research paper ,You should not rely solely on the internet for information either; students may use certain web page links such as, The History Channel or Historynet.com to reinforce the research paper.

Capstone project final project

Capstone project final project: EBP project on the importance of bedside shift report

(Capstone project final project)

Question description

In this assignment, students will pull together the change proposal project components they have been working on throughout the course to create a proposal inclusive of sections for each content focus area in the course.

Students will develop a 1,250-1,500 word paper that includes the following information as it applies to the problem, issue, suggestion, initiative, or educational need profiled in the capstone change proposal: –each of these areas are on the Rubric, which means I will be looking for each piece to grade!

  1. Background (Introduction and Thesis Statement-as the author, what is your purpose for the paper, what are you planning to cover or address???)
  2. Problem statement—-this is not your PICOT ( you state that a little further down)
  3. Purpose of the change proposal- why do you think the change needs to happen based on the problem you identified.
  4. PICOT-the entire statement, not just a breakdown of each component!!—-If I do not get the actual PICOT statement, you will lose significant points!!
  5. Literature search strategy employed (GCU Library, CINAHL, PubMed, and such)
  6. Evaluation of the literature- remember that literature evaluation tool you filled out (use that data, but do NOT include that template in the paper!!)
  7. Applicable change or nursing theory utilized— make sure you provide an actual established theory you can cite from.
  8. Proposed implementation plan with outcome measures- what your plan to roll out your proposal?
  9. Identification of potential barriers to plan implementation, and a discussion of how these could be overcome
  10. Conclusion—Comprehensive conclusion for the entire paper! Not at the end of each section like you copied and pasted all of your papers together. This is supposed to be one paper that flows as one paper and not the pasted papers you have done since week 2. All it takes is some minor editing to fit all of your papers into one complete work!! Don’t think you have to start over and don’t overthink this paper, you have already pretty much written it, now turn it into one complete paper!
  11. Appendix section (if tables, graphs, surveys, educational materials, etc. are created) ANY TOOL YOU WOULD USE FOR IMPLEMENTATION OR EVALUATION YOU MUST INCLUDE IN THE APPENDIX. Do not describe what you would use, include the actual tool. This is where I see students lose the most points because they don’t attach any form of Appendix. Think about it this way, if you were ACTUALLY going to present, or implement and evaluate your proposal, what tools would you use to do that? And don’t say there are not any you would use, that will not meet any point expectation for this project.

Review the feedback from your instructor on all of the assignments you have submitted thus far. Use the feedback to make appropriate revisions to the portfolio (Capstone Paper) components before submitting (this is also on the Rubric, Evidence of Revision)

Remember this is your final paper and your pulling it all together, and you are not just copying and pasting each paper together, you are turning this into ONE paper that flows as one paper. You need one all inclusive Introduction, and one all inclusive Conclusion.

Prepare this assignment according to APA Style. An abstract is not required. My expectation is that APA format is not new and should be a non-issue for any of you at this point.

SPELL/GRAMMAR CHECK YOUR WORK BEFORE YOU SUBMIT-THERE ARE POINTS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS!! Also, if there are any errors on the paper that were not cleaned up before you submit, there are point deductions associated here too. This is the last paper you will do for your degree, make it look professional!!!

You are required to submit this assignment to Turnitin

**** I will upload my paper down below. Please use the information from that paper to help you work on the final project.

Thanks

Suicide Prevention & Stop Cyber-Bullying

Suicide Prevention & Stop Cyber-Bullying

(Suicide Prevention & Stop Cyber-Bullying)

Create A Public Service Announcement Video That Is Only 3 Minutes On Suicide Prevention Or Stop Cyber Bullying.

The intent of this assignment is to create a Public Service Announcement video that can be used in an appropriate venue. Some topics are more appropriate for children, adolescents, or adults. The intent of the video is to educate an audience on the need to respond differently to the identified crisis.

Most television PSAs are 15–20 seconds long. An example is the classic PSA of “This is your brain… this is your brain on drugs” with the image of an egg frying in a frying pan. However, for this assignment you are given 3 minutes. This video time period will allow you to accomplish the required elements noted on the grading rubric.

The first element is to identify the crisis and the affected population. This can be accomplished visually. For example, a video shot of a person’s Facebook page with words that reflect cyber bullying.

The second element is identifying the current prevalence of the crisis. This usually involves statistics. Again, this can be done visually, or with words at the bottom of the screen.

The third element is to identify the current community response. Again, this can be captured with an image, words, your original lyrics and music in a song playing in the background, etc.

The fourth element is to identify a healthier response to the identified crisis. This element can be captured with an image and/or a hotline number with the words, “Don’t ignore the signs…call now.” The elements really depends on how you want to create the video.

This is your PSA, so be creative. You can use a flip camera, video camera, computer camera, etc. to film your segments. You cannot use existing video footage, pictures, or other copyrighted materials from another source to create your video. Also, if you use children in the video, their identity must be concealed. For example, you can only see the back of the children, not their faces.

Topic for PSA is Suicide Prevention or Stop Cyber-Bullying.

application: taking a stand

Assignment: Application: Taking a Stand

(application: taking a stand)

Question description

Assignment: Application: Taking a Stand

Effective leaders have a high degree of self-awareness and know how to leverage their strengths in the workplace. Assessments are a valuable tool that professionals can use to learn more about themselves and consider how their temperament and preferences influence their interactions with others.

As you engage in this learning process, it is important to remember that everyone—regardless of temperament type or related preferences—experiences some challenges with regard to leadership. The key to success is being able to recognize and leverage your own strengths while honoring differences among your colleagues.

At some point in your leadership career, you will encounter an ethical or moral dilemma that requires you to take a stand and defend your position.

For this Assignment, you evaluate an issue and consider how you could act as a moral agent or advocate, facilitating the resolution of the issue for a positive outcome.

To prepare:

  • Consider the examples of leadership demonstrated in this week’s media presentation and the other Learning Resources.
  • To further your self-knowledge, you are required to complete the Kiersey Temperament as indicated in this week’s Learning Resources. Consider your leadership style, including your strengths for leading others and include your results from Kiersey Temperament Sorter to describe potential challenges related to your leadership style.
  • Mentally survey your work environment, or one with which you are familiar, and identify a timely issue/dilemma that requires you to perform the leadership role of moral agent or advocate to improve a situation (e.g., speaking or acting on behalf of a vulnerable patient, the need for appropriate staffing, a colleague being treated unfairly).
  • What ethical, moral, or legal skills, dispositions, and/or strategies would help you resolve this dilemma? Define the differences between ethical, moral, and legal leadership.
  • Finally, consider the values and principles that guide the nursing profession; the organization’s mission, vision, and values; the leadership and management competencies addressed in this course; and your own values and reasons for entering the profession. What motivation do you see for taking a stand on an important issue even when it is difficult to do so?

To complete:

BY DAY 7

Write a 4 to 5 page paper (page count does not include title and reference page) that addresses the following:

  • Introduce the conceptual frameworks of the ethical constructs of ethics, moral, or legal standards and the purpose of the paper.
  • Consider an ethical, moral, or legal dilemma that you have encountered in your work environment and describe it.
  • Analyze the moral, ethical, and legal implications utilized in this situation. Describe your role as a moral agent or advocate for this specific issue.
  • Consider your leadership styles identified by your self-assessment and determine if they act as a barrier or facilitation during this dilemma.

The School of Nursing requires that all papers submitted include a title page, introduction, summary, and references. The Sample Paper provided at the Walden Writing Center provides an example of those required elements.

The Brain Is Impacted By Depression

The Brain Is Impacted By Depression

(The Brain Is Impacted By Depression)

Depression significantly impacts the brain’s structure, function, and chemistry. Structural changes include alterations in the hippocampus, responsible for memory and emotion regulation, and the prefrontal cortex, involved in decision-making and mood regulation. These regions often exhibit reduced volume in depressed individuals, possibly due to prolonged stress and decreased neurogenesis.

Functionally, depression disrupts neural circuits involved in mood regulation, leading to symptoms like persistent sadness, loss of interest, and impaired concentration. Dysregulation of neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine contributes to altered mood states. Moreover, the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, which governs the stress response, becomes overactive, perpetuating a cycle of stress and depressive symptoms.

Chronic inflammation is also associated with depression, with elevated levels of inflammatory markers observed in the brain. This inflammation may disrupt neurotransmitter function and impair neuroplasticity, exacerbating depressive symptoms.

In summary, depression profoundly affects the brain’s structure, function, and chemistry, leading to cognitive, emotional, and physical symptoms. Understanding these neurological changes is crucial for developing effective treatments and interventions for individuals struggling with depression.

(The Brain Is Impacted By Depression)

For this assignment, you will write a 5-7 page paper (body) on how the brain is impacted by depression?

Psychology Powerpoint Presentation

Psychology Powerpoint Presentation

(Psychology Powerpoint Presentation)

Here is the main assignment!  KEEP IN MIND this is a team assignment and I am only responsible for part of the assignment.

The class is DIVERSITY AND CULTURAL FACTORS IN PSYCHOLOGY.  I have attached the book as an attachment.  kthagin is log in to book and Marines1! is the password.
The second attachment is the template that our team has chosen to use.
The third attachment is a very detailed description as to what the lead wants each student to do. It is a planning document.

The assignment:

Imagine that a local company has contacted you regarding new employees from a different culture.  The purpose of the presentation is to help the present employees understand and communicate with the new employees from a different culture.

Create an 8- to 10- slide Microsoft® PowerPoint®, research-based presentation to help employees understand cultural differences in the expression of emotion and the interpretation of behaviors and traditions. You will need to select one culture that is NOT represented by the learning team group.  Your notes will explain the points in your slides.

Choose a culture outside of those represented in your Learning Team, and include the following:

  • Research findings on cultural differences in the expression of emotion, interpretation of behavior, and traditions.
  • Translate the research results into everyday terms, as your audience will be people unfamiliar with psychological jargon.
  • Apply the research findings to your chosen culture.
  • Explain how the present group of employees can maximize communication with the new employees.

Include at least three scholarly resources in your presentation.

Now, look  at the planning document attached.

The human being and emotions – Slide 3 & 4

Slide content: Describe emotion and how it is used in communications. Talk about types of emotions (basic and self-conscious – pg 208). Role of emotional regulation in social construct (pg 209) – this is general discussion of emotional regulation because it will be used later in cultural differences in regulation. For this slide just discuss the concept and who it affect social functions.

Possible resources:

Guidelines for presentation (to maintain uniformity and presentation style):

  • Each slide should have 4 to 6 summary points, displayed as bullet points that are about a sentence long or less.
  • Each slide, except Intro and Conclusion should have a graphic
  • Important one: Make sure you reference concepts and research that you share to the Chinese culture either to show similarities or differences. Every section should find some way to mention how what you are writing about relates to the Chinese culture. This is the requirement: Apply the research findings to your chosen culture.
  • Important note 2: Use common terms, stay away from scientific jargon. Our audience is employees of a local company, so write to your audience – but still 3rd person please!
  • Your speaker notes should look just like your writing in a paper. Make sure all your bullet points are covered in your speaker notes and each page should have at least two paragraphs. Please make sure you cite references, just like a paper.

Assignment2: Landmark Civil Case

Assignment 2: Landmark Civil Case

(Assignment2: Landmark Civil Case)

Forensic assessment has been largely shaped by statutes, legal standards, and the outcomes of historical landmark cases.  When working in an environment where there is no room for error, it is  imperative to understand the relevant court decisions that inform the  rationale behind various assessment procedures. Unless one knows the  relevant statutory or case law, as well as the standards that they set,  it is not possible to select an appropriate method of assessment.

Using  resources from the professional literature, investigate the research  literature on one landmark case pertaining to an important psycholegal  issue that forensic mental health professionals address in their  assessments. The psycholegal issue may be chosen from the area of criminal forensic psychology  (e.g., competency to waive Miranda rights, competency to stand trial,  or mental state at the time of the offense), or it may be chosen from  the civil area, such as cases pertaining to the right to  treatment, the right to refuse treatment, civil commitment, child  custody, fitness to parent, or disability. Remember that you must select  a case that has direct implications for the work of a forensic mental  health professional. Landmark cases are typically historical ones.  Recent legal cases that are prominent in the news are not necessarily  landmark cases.

The  literature you consult can include the Argosy University online library  resources, relevant textbooks, peer-reviewed journal articles, and  websites ending in .edu or .gov that are created by professional  organizations, agencies, or institutions.

More specifically, you are encouraged to refer to your program-required textbook Psychological Evaluations for the Courts: A Handbook for Mental Health Professionals and Lawyers for landmark cases.

You may also refer to the category Landmark Cases in the Webliography.

In a minimum of 300 words, respond to the following:(Assignment2: Landmark Civil Case)

  • Identify a landmark civil case and explain why you chose it for review.
  • Provide a short review of the facts of the case.
  • Identify the psycholegal issue that was in dispute.
  • Discuss the final decision on the issue by the highest court that heard the case.
  • Discuss  the ways in which the case is relevant to the legal standard that  forensic professionals must consider. In other words, discuss the  implications of the case for the practice of forensic assessment.
  • Provide  a properly formatted legal reference for the case. If necessary,  consult “Appendix 7.1, References to Legal Materials,” starting on p.  216 of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 6th Edition

Assignment3: The Mozart Effect

Assignment 3: The Mozart Effect

(Assignment3: The Mozart Effect)

The Mozart Effect is a phenomenon suggesting that listening to Mozart’s music can enhance cognitive abilities, particularly spatial-temporal reasoning skills. The concept gained popularity in the early 1990s when a study suggested that participants who listened to Mozart’s music performed better on spatial reasoning tasks compared to those who listened to silence or other types of music. However, subsequent research has yielded mixed results, with some studies replicating the effect and others failing to do so.

Despite the controversy, the idea of the Mozart Effect has had a significant impact on popular culture, leading to the development of products claiming to improve intelligence and cognitive function through listening to classical music. While listening to music, including Mozart’s compositions, can certainly have temporary effects on mood and concentration, the notion of a direct and long-lasting improvement in cognitive abilities remains debatable.

In conclusion, while the Mozart Effect has sparked interest in the potential connections between music and cognition, its scientific validity remains uncertain. Further research is needed to fully understand the relationship between music and cognitive function, as well as the specific mechanisms underlying any potential benefits.

(Assignment3: The Mozart Effect)

In this assignment, you will read an article about the Mozart effect and identify various parts of the research process. This exercise will help you learn how to read a research article and to understand the research process.

Read the following article:

In your article summary, respond to the following questions:.

  • State the research hypothesis in your own words. Identify the independent and dependent variables.
  • What were some variables the researchers controlled in their study? Why was this necessary?
  • What evidence do the researchers offer as a test of their hypothesis? Is this evidence empirical (observable)? Is it valid?
  • What explanation do the researchers offer for their findings? Does the evidence justify this explanation?

Read the following article:(Assignment3: The Mozart Effect)

Jenkins, J.S. (2001). The Mozart effect. Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, 94, 170-172.

Based on your readings, respond to the following:

  • Do you think there is any merit in the study (Rauscher, Shaw, & Ky, 1993)? Give three reasons for your position.
  • Does the study take individual differences in spatial ability into account? Explain your answer.
