Nursing Leadership and management DQ # 4 student reply

The following post is another student reply to wish I have to react adding some extra information related to what already the student post. please use APA. 3 references and be careful with similarity it should be less than 20 %Question 1.a. The organization I’m currently a part of is considered Private not- for-profit because it employs staff which gets paid however, the institution must generate an income sufficient to cover expenses such as equipment, supplies and pharmaceuticals (Weiss, Tappen & Grimley, 2019)b. The climate of the facility is one where the values and philosophy shape the way care is provided. The overall goals are governed by tradition and the environment is supportive to new ideas and staff (Weiss, Tappen & Grimley, 2019).c. The structure of this organization can be described as a traditional approach. Employees are ranked according to their specialty. The CEO makes decisions regarding who is hired or fired and administers funds, managers and nurses directly are delegated on and ancillary staff provide a structure and their work maintains the functionality of the organization (Weiss, Tappen & Grimley, 2019).d. Some of the formal goals of the organization are to expand and grow by adding more services to serve the community as well as to continue to be able to provide newer technology and supplies. The organization is also looking to enhance their status by developing a state-of-the-art birth center for expecting mothers which focuses on a home-like atmosphere where the family’s needs will be met at an expert level (Weiss, Tappen & Grimley, 2019).Question 2.Managers and nurses’ labor are major in achieving the organization’s goals. Nurses must feel they contribute to the general philosophy through actions such as planning care to avoid readmissions of patients that have been discharged (Weiss, Tappen & Grimley, 2019). When managers and nurses realize their jobs directly impact results of the organization, they will strive to meet them judiciously.Question 3.Professional knowledge and experience make up your expertise in your place of work. Nurses can enhance this expertise by actively engaging in conferences, continuing education programs, reading books or journals on topics you need enhancement on, participating in research, getting help from mentors who are experienced in your specialty and advancing educational level by obtaining bachelor’s or master’s degree (Weiss, Tappe & Grimley, 2019).Question 4.Shared governance is an approach that focuses on retention and satisfaction by integrating values in the practice to achieve goals (Weiss, Tappen & Grimley, 2019). It gives nurses the opportunity to participate in decision making and this requires for management to give staff some control over decisionsQuestion 5.It is important for nurses to see the link between their work and the organization’s goals because through their actions they can positively impact the organization’s development and meeting of said goals. Also knowing what your organization’s norms are can prevent you from breaking them and moreover identifying with your organization’s philosophy is important to align them with your own expectations and values (Weiss, Tappen & Grimley, 2019).Question 6.My ideal organization would be one where the values and philosophy would be reflected on their activities. One that values nursing input and allows them to actively participate in aspects that can be improved. It is important for the environment to center around excellence which empowers staff to become better, meaningfulness and growth (Weiss, Tappen & Grimley, 2019). Another aspect that makes an organizational desirable to nurses is commitment to safe activities, interdisciplinary collaboration and opportunity for professional growth.Question 7.In talking with coworkers, I was able to find out what exactly empowers some nurses in our organization. One aspect that was common ground was the ability to help make decisions, this gives our nurses a sense of confidence in their ability to perform. Being allowed to exercise their autonomy by relying on their skills and knowledge as well as the reward system we have which selects an employee of the month at the end of every month, which is voted on by the staff, therefore nurses strive to gain peer recognition while performing their duties. As mentioned by Weiss, Tappen and Grimley (2019) empowering nurses must be achieved by priding fairness, reward and recognition, manageable workload, autonomy and decision making.Question 8.I remember the first time I walked into my physician’s office for the first time. I had been looking for a new doctor for a while and had not been successful. Upon arriving I was treated very kindly, given ample time to fill out documents and assisted in a timely manner. This together with my current doctors great bedside manners, professionalism and dedication to patient interview were key assets I value until this day and I would never settle for anything less.Question 9I believe providing great health care is a matter of combining several aspects. Patients respond well to a modern state of the art facility that thrives on the latest technology. This gives a sense of being taken care of. However sometimes it is difficult to get feedback or calls from doctors when a patient has questions. I believe it would be beneficial to create a line that would answer to patient’s concerns that do not require visits. Expensive changes would involve acquiring newer machines to provide the latest technology. I believe when patients visit doctors they are in a vulnerable state and needing support. It is important to feel all your needs ranging from physiological to psychological are being met. That you are being valued as a whole and not just a symptom or payor source. A good first impression can create a lifetime client and fortify the patient-physician relationship.ReferenceWeiss, S. A., Tappen, R. M., & Grimley, K. A. (2019). Advanced Pharmacology

The Lab AssignmentWrite a detailed one-page narrative (not a formal paper) explaining the health assessment information required for a diagnosis of your selected patient (include the scenario number). Explain how you would respond to the scenario as an advanced practice nurse using evidence-based practice guidelines and applying ethical considerations. Justify your response using at least three different references from current evidence-based literature. The Ethics Behind AssessmentConsider the following scenarios:· You are a nurse at a large county hospital. One of your patients is leaning toward selecting a certain radical treatment for cancer, to which the family is in opposition. The family is concerned about making the correct decision and asks for your advice.· The state of Oregon has passed a “Death with Dignity” act that allows for euthanasia in certain situations. One of your patients suffering from terminal cancer is thinking of moving there to take advantage of this law and asks your opinion.Throughout this course, you have explored a wide range of health assessments and abnormal examination findings. Although you have predominantly focused on the procedural aspects of health assessment, this week, you will focus on ethical considerations that should be taken into account when advising patients or their families. This week, you will consider how evidence-based practice guidelines and ethical considerations factor into health assessments. You will also evaluate health assessment concepts related to sports physicals and well-child and well-woman examinations.Learning ObjectivesStudents will:· Apply evidence-based practice guidelines to make an informed healthcare decision· Apply ethical considerations to a health assessment response· Apply concepts, theories, and principles relating to sports physicals and well-child and well-woman examinations· Identify  concepts, theories, and principles related to advanced health assessmentBall, J. Assignment: “Captain of the Ship” Project – Depressive Disorder

PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTION BELOW4 REFERENCESZERO PLAGIARISMAssignment: “Captain of the Ship” Project – Depressive DisorderAs nurse practitioners strive to achieve full-autonomous practice across the country, it should be noted that many states grant this ability to practice independently to psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners. To that end, you will be engaging in projects this semester that assume that you are practicing in a state that allows full-practice authority for NPs, meaning that the PMHNP may be the “captain of the ship” concerning caring for a patient population. The “captain of the ship” is the one who makes referrals to specialists, coordinates care for their patients/clients, and is responsible and accountable for patient/client outcomes overall. This is a decided change from a few decades ago when physicians were the “captain of the ship” and NPs played a peripheral role.In this Assignment, you will become the “captain of the ship” as you provide treatment recommendations and identify medical management, community support resources, and follow-up plans for a client with a depression disorder.Learning ObjectivesStudents will:Recommend psychopharmacologic treatments based on therapeutic endpoints for clients with depression disordersRecommend psychotherapy based on therapeutic endpoints for clients with depression disordersIdentify medical management needs for clients with depression disordersIdentify community support resources for clients with depression disordersRecommend follow-up plans for clients with depression disordersTo prepare for this Assignment:Select an adult or older adult client with a depressive disorder you have seen in your practicum. In 3–4 pages, write a treatment plan for your client in which you do the following:Describe the HPI and clinical impression for the client.Recommend psychopharmacologic treatments and describe specific and therapeutic endpoints for your psychopharmacologic agent. (This should relate to HPI and clinical impression.)Recommend psychotherapy choices (individual, family, and group) and specific therapeutic endpoints for your choices.Identify medical management needs, including primary care needs, specific to this client.Identify community support resources (housing, socioeconomic needs, etc.) and community agencies that are available to assist the client.Recommend a plan for follow-up intensity and frequency and collaboration with other providers.

Anxiety Case Study

Ivy, age 23, is a white woman who graduated from college last year. She began working as an accountant one month after graduating. Approximately two months ago, she moved into a two-bedroom apartment with another woman who works at the same accounting firm. She states that her roommate recommended that she sees a doctor to find out if she has anemia or “some sort of fatigue syndrome.” She states that she has felt “restless” and “on edge” for most of the past nine months. She becomes easily fatigued and irritable and has difficulty concentrating and falling asleep. She states that sometimes her mind “just goes blank,” and she is worried that her work performance is no longer excellent. She reports that all her life she had good grades in school and was very successful in everything she attempted. Although she has been “a worrier from the day I was born,” now she worries more than she ever has and feels nervous “all the time.” Ivy reports that she has a good relationship with her boyfriend, but they do not get to see each other very often because he is attending graduate school 100 miles away. She reports having a satisfying sexual relationship with him. She denies having any problems with relationships with her parents, roommate, or peers. She denies having any financial worries unless she is fired from her job for poor work performance. She reports that she has always been healthy and has taken good care of herself. The only medication she takes is birth control pills, which she has taken for the past four years without any adverse effects.Diagnosis: Generalized Anxiety Disorder1. List specific treatment goals for Ivy.2. What drug therapy would you prescribe? Why?3. What are the parameters for monitoring the success of the therapy?4. Describe specific patient monitoring based on the prescribed therapy.5. List one or two adverse reactions for the selected agent that would cause you to change therapy.6. What would be the choice for second-line therapy?7. What dietary and lifestyle changes should be recommended for this patient?8. Describe one or two drug–drug or drug–food interactions for the selected agent.
