Assignment 1: Job Description
For your convenience here are my tips again, – below:
You have been given the opportunity to create a detailed job description for your job, a former job, or a job you would like to move into.
1) Based on what you know about a job analysis, employment laws, and safe working environments, include the following categories:
a) Job overview
b) Responsibilities and duties
c) Qualifications
(Dr. Vic’s Tips: After reading and reviewing all the information from the “LEARN” area within the Week 3 tab – all the chapters and video. You will want to also research the common and even legal portions of a typical job posting – look at several job postings to determine these common and even legal portions. Really review the Job Overview, Responsibilities and Duties and, Qualifications areas of your example job postings to notice and learn these areas from a real-life perspective. Please do not plagiarize your job description, it needs to be something you wrote for the job you have selected to write about from your current or past experience.
2) Explain how you determined the duties and qualifications for the job and which laws were considered when creating the job description.
(Dr. Vic’s Tips: please list elements of labor laws pertinent to the position such as, and for example: the FLSA, EEOA and Equal Pay Acts, etc.). Again, also, review all the information from the “LEARN” area within the Week 3 tab.
This assignment should be 2–3 pages and accurately reflect an actual job description in the workplace today.
NOTE: This assignment will be used as a basis for the remaining assignments in the course. Make sure you take this into consideration when doing the work for this assignment.
