Critical Analysis and Reflection

Evaluating Empirical Research: Critical Analysis and Reflection

(Critical Analysis and Reflection)

analyze an empirical article, practicing the skills you will need to evaluate research.

Instructions

This week, you will analyze an empirical article, practicing the skills you will need to evaluate research. This assignment was adapted from materials developed at the Center for Teaching and Learning at UIS.

For this assignment, your will write an essay analyzing an empirical study. Be sure to provide the APA citation and a link to the article in the reference list within your document. As you complete your essay, reflect on what issues are important to the field vs. the general public, and how you and other health psychologists can communicate research clearly.

To choose a study, use the Library’s Find a Resource tool to search for Health Psychology, a peer-reviewed journal published by Division 38 of the American Psychological Association. Browse the current and previous issues (if available, look for a list of their most highly cited, most-read, or most recent publications). Select any one empirical study that investigates nutrition, the brain, and behavior or mental health. Once you have chosen a study, use Google Scholar or another Library database like Web of Knowledge to determine the study’s “cited by” count. For further guidance see the Library’s Google Scholar Cited By quick tutorial video. Or refer to the Library’s Citing Articles help guide. This number can be one indication of a study’s influence in the larger academic community. Your own analysis of the article is another.

Your assignment should include the following review of the study in about one page:>

State the problem or the topic discussed in the article

Summarize the authors’ purpose, hypothesis, methods, and major conclusions

Next, analyze the study, thinking about your responses to the following questions as a guide:

Is the title of the article appropriate? Is it clear? Suggest an alternative title.

(Critical Analysis and Reflection)

Does the literature review justify the study? (Hint: to answer this, examine whether the information covered in the literature review directly maps on to the study being reported. The literature review should summarize all relevant scientific knowledge on the topic. Then, it should clearly outline something that we still do not know, and state how the study tries to address this gap. Consider whether there are irrelevant references, or whether some aspect of the study is not foreshadowed in the literature review).

Do the authors seem to misrepresent or misinterpret others’ work? (Scan their sources to see if what the authors report aligns).

Does the hypothesis or research question seem sensible? Do you believe that the study is important, based on the case the authors presented in the literature review? Is the purpose or hypothesis clear?

Are the methods/protocol described clearly enough that you think you could replicate them (if you had the right laboratory, equipment or other resources)?

Are the methods used reasonable ways to answer the research question(s)? No study is perfect, so describe one other way the authors might have tested their hypothesis or investigated their research question. Be creative!

Does the analysis/discussion section over- or under-emphasize any aspect of the results?

Do you trust the analysis and discussion? Why or why not? Point to specific evidence in the article that helps build your trust in the results (or not).

Is any of the content duplicated? (For example, tables and figures should be summarized/interpreted in the text, not just repeated. Similarly, the discussion should connect the findings to the larger literature, not just re-state the results).

Is the discussion section relevant to the topic? Do the authors make conclusions that are supported by their findings, or do they overreach? >

What are the major implications of this study for consumers and researchers?

What are the major limitations of this study? How could they be addressed?

Across the article, are any statements or claims vague or ambiguous? How could they be clarified?

Length: 7-10 pages

References: You should cite your specific study, and all others that you use in your analysis.

Your completed assignment should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards. Be sure to adhere to University’s Academic Integrity Policy.

Case Study – The Elderly

Case Study – The Elderly

(Case Study – The Elderly)

The elderly population faces a myriad of challenges, including declining physical health, cognitive impairment, and social isolation. Physically, they may contend with chronic illnesses, mobility issues, and sensory impairments, impacting their independence and quality of life. Cognitive decline, such as dementia, poses significant challenges to daily functioning and decision-making abilities. Moreover, social isolation and loneliness are prevalent due to factors like loss of loved ones, retirement, and limited mobility, leading to mental health issues like depression and anxiety.

Addressing these challenges requires a holistic approach encompassing healthcare, social support, and community engagement. Healthcare interventions should focus on preventive care, managing chronic conditions, and providing accessible and affordable services. Social support networks, including family, caregivers, and community organizations, play a crucial role in alleviating isolation and providing emotional support. Additionally, initiatives promoting intergenerational connections and recreational activities can enhance the well-being and sense of belonging among the elderly. By recognizing and addressing the diverse needs of the elderly population, society can foster a more inclusive and supportive environment for aging individuals.

Scenario:

As a community health nurse, you are working in an outpatient clinic in a community that serves mainly elderly clients.

This year, you noted that 85 percent of the visits resulting in hospitalization resulted from bronchitis, asthma, pneumonia, and influenza as compared to last year. At that time; the visits weredue to colds, sore throats, influenza, bronchitis, and pneumonia, in order of frequency.

Maria Perez, a 73-year-old Cuban American woman has been referred for community health nursing services following her discharge from the hospital. She smokes two packs of cigarettes per day. She was recently hospitalized as a result of a severe shortness of breath due to an asthma attack. The primary care provider prescribed respiratory treatments using Albuterol via jet nebulizer every 4-6 hours as needed. Mrs. Perez lives alone and has three cats to take care of.

Instructions:

  1. Read the scenario above and answer the following questions:
    • What are the biophysical, psychological, physical environmental, sociocultural, behavioral, and health system factors influencing Mrs. Perez’s health?
    • Describe at least three primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention strategies that would be appropriate in resolving Mrs. Perez’s health problems. Why would they be appropriate?
    • What activities related to health promotion and disease prevention would you plan for the late fall?
    • How would you evaluate your nursing interventions? What criteria would you use to evaluate care?

MN569 Advanced Practice Nursing

MN569 Advanced Practice Nursing: Written Patient Consult And Referral

(MN569 Advanced Practice Nursing)

No Plegarism please, assignment will be checked with Turnitin.

Will need minimum of 5 full pages, title, and reference page APA Style, double spaced, times new roman, font 12, and and (3 references within 5 years 2014-2018) with intext citations).

Patient care hinges in part on adequate and timely information exchange between treating providers. Referral and reply letters are common means by which doctors and nurse practitioners exchange information pertinent to patient care. Ensuring that letters meet the needs of letter recipients saves time for clinicians and patients, reduces unnecessary repetition of diagnostic investigations, and helps to avoid patient dissatisfaction and loss of confidence in medical practitioners.

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) you will need to know the difference between a consultation and a referral for treatment, when ordering and when carrying out consultations or referrals.

Consultations

A consultation is a request for opinion or advice, so that the requestor can manage the patient. A consultation is billed under one of the consultation codes listed in Physicians’ Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) (99241-99245 for outpatient of office consultations). If the NP is the consultant, the NP should document the request for a consultation, the reason for the consult, and the NP’s evaluation and recommendations.

When an NP requests a consultation from another provider, the N P should request “consultation” on the referral form, rather than “referring.”

Referrals:

A referral is made when the referring provider wants to turn the management of the patient over to the referred-to provider, at least for the current complaint.

When a NP refers a patient, the NP should state on the referral form that the NP is “referring the patient for evaluation and treatment.” The referred-to provider will bill an evaluation and management code, rather than a consultation code.

Writing Assignment: Consult:

Write up a consult request and include all key elements.

Ms. Perez has been referred to Ms. Wilson FNP-C,APRN, MSN  for consultation regarding eczema unresponsive to treatment in the past six months.

Document the evaluation and recommendations for how Ms. Wilson FNP-C,APRN,MSN should deal with the consultation request and bill a consultation code.

Writing Assignment: Referral:

Write up a referral request and include all key elements.

As an NP and Ms. Perez primary care provider, you decide to refer her to Dr. Owens a dermatologist for evaluation and treatment regarding eczema unresponsive to treatment in the past six months.

1. Document your referral to Dr. Owens

2. Document the evaluation and recommendations for how Dr. Owens should deal with the referral and bill a referral code.

Evaluation of Technical Quality

Evaluation of Technical Quality

(Evaluation of Technical Quality)

Resources

In Unit 2, you selected one standardized test that has relevancy to your academic and professional goals to be the focus of your course project. Your Unit 2 assignment focused on the first four elements of the Code for selecting a test. For this assignment, you will complete a deeper analysis of the technical quality of your selected test by focusing on the fifth element of the Code, which states that the test user will “evaluate evidence of the technical quality of the test provided by the test developer and any independent reviews.” To complete this assignment, you will draw upon the knowledge you gained in Units 3 and 4 about psychometrics in general and reliability and validity in particular.

For this assignment, you will use the test you selected for your project in Unit 2. Locate and summarize a minimum of seven articles related to the technical qualities of the selected test. You are encouraged to use the PSY7610 Library Research Guide, linked in the Resources, to assist your search.

For each article:

  • List the APA reference for each journal article (a minimum of seven).
  • Identify if the article addresses reliability or validity.
  • Discuss if the article addresses sources of error variance, reliability estimates, evidence of validity, or bias and fairness.
  • Identify the specific type of reliability or validity (for example, test-retest reliability, predictive validity, et cetera).
  • Identify the overall results of the research, including any psychometric or statistical outcome.

Submit your analysis as a paper using the outline provided in the section “Organize Your Paper” below.

Guidelines for Selecting the Literature

Use the most current sources you can find. Do not use sources older than 8 years. (You may cite older sources if they are classics, if you want to show the chronology of something, or if you have another good reason. If you choose to use older sources, you will need to explain why.). Use current, peer-reviewed journal articles. Do not use sources without an author or a publication date. Do not use quotes; use only your own words. Please see the Plagiarism in Coursework document in the resources for concerns with high content matching in papers. Evaluate whether or not the results supports the use of your test as appropriate for your field and populations to be served.

Note: The articles you need to complete this assignment should be available inside the library collection. In future courses, you may use the library’s Interlibrary Loan service to obtain articles outside of the collection, but you should not have to use the service for PSY7610. In the event that you cannot find articles covering a newer test edition, please refer to the List of Tests by Type, linked in the Resources. Note which tests have been designated as acceptable for searching prior test editions.

Organize Your Paper

For your paper, use the following headings:

  • Title page (required).
  • Abstract (optional).
  • Introduction.
    • Identify the standardized test you selected in Unit 2.
    • Describe briefly the publisher’s stated purpose for its use.
    • Identify briefly a population or psychological condition that is within the standardization of the test.
  • Technical review article summaries. Each article is to be directly related to your chosen test and one aspect of its technical quality. Note: Use an annotated bibliography for evaluative information format (see the resources for additional information available at Capella about annotated bibliographies).
    • List the APA reference for each journal article (a minimum of seven).
    • Identify if the article addresses reliability or validity.
    • Explain how the article addresses sources of error variance, reliability estimates, evidence of validity, or bias and fairness.
    • Identify the specific type of reliability or validity (for example, test-retest reliability, predictive validity, et cetera).
    • Identify the overall results of the research including any psychometric or statistical outcome.
  • Conclusion.
    • Synthesize the information from all the articles you reviewed about reliability.
    • Synthesize the information from all the articles you reviewed about validity.
    • Evaluate if your test continues to be deemed as appropriate for your planned use in the field and with the population to be served.
  • References (required, use current APA format and style).

Submit your draft to Turnitin prior to uploading it to the assignment area.

Additional Requirements

Your paper should meet the following requirements:

  • References: A minimum of seven journal articles (textbooks, Web pages, literature reviews, and the MMY book reviews do not count for these references).
  • Length of paper: Evaluation must be at least five pages in length for content (not including title page, abstract, or references).

  • demonstrate leadership skills by communicating a shared vision, motivating and empowering others, and creating a culture of ethical decision-making and innovation
  • develop measures and assess outcomes against plans and standards to improve organizational effectiveness
  • identify the essential characteristics of decision making and indicate the range and types of decisions a manager makes

Instructions:(Galaxy Toys Management Strategy)

Step 1: Preparation for the Assignment

Before you begin writing the report, you will read the following requirements that will help you meet the writing and APA requirements. Not reading this information will lead to a lower grade:

Review “How to Analyze a Case Study” under Week 8 Content. You are expected to use the facts from the case scenario focusing on using this information to determine opportunities and solve problems.

Read the grading rubric for the assignment. Use the grading rubric while writing the report to ensure all requirements are met that will lead to the highest possible grade.

In writing this assignment, you will read and following these tasks:

Task 1: Third person writing is required. Third person means that there are no words such as “I, me, my, we, or us” (first person writing), nor is there use of “you or your” (second person writing). If uncertain how to write in the third person, view this link:http://www.quickanddirtytips.com/education/grammar/first-second-and-third-person.

Task 2: Contractions are not used in business writing, so you are expected NOT to use contraction in writing this assignment.

Task 3: You are expected to paraphrase and are NOT to use direct quotes. You are expected to paraphrase, which can be learned by reviewing this link:https://writing.wisc.edu/Handbook/QPA_paraphrase2.html.

Task 4: You are responsible for APA only for in-text citations and a reference list.

Task 5: You are expected to use the facts from the case scenario paired with the weekly courses readings to develop the analysis and support the reasoning. No more than two (2) external resources can be used in completing the assignment. The expectation is that you provide a robust use of the course readings. If any material is used from a source document, it must be cited and referenced. A reference within a reference list cannot exist without an associated in-text citation and vice versa. View the sample APA paper and the How to Cite and Reference file located under Week 4 content.

Task 6: In completing the assignment, students are expected to use the facts from the case scenario and company profile paired with the weekly courses readings to develop the analysis. View the company profile here: Galaxy Toys, Inc. Company Profile.

Step 2: How to Set Up the Paper(Galaxy Toys Management Strategy)

Create a Word or Rich Text Format (RTF) document that is double-spaced, 12-point font. The final product will be between 8-10 pages in length excluding the title page and reference page and appendix. You may not exceed ten (10) pages so it is important to write clearly and concisely.

Use the following format:

  • Create a title page with title, your name, the course, the instructor’s name and date;
  • Introduction
  • Part One
  • Part Two
  • Part Three

Step 3: Create the introductory paragraph.

The introductory paragraph is the first paragraph of the paper but is typically written after writing the body of the paper (Questions students responded to above). View this website to learn how to write an introductory paragraph:http://www.writing.ucsb.edu/faculty/donelan/intro.html

Step 4: Part One-Organizing(Galaxy Toys Management Strategy)

Read critically and analyze the following scenario:

Now, it is time for all production managers to begin the organizing process. Doing so requires that managers collect the people, resources, and capital to begin production in a way that will implement the short-term production goals and objectives set through planning. The deadline for production to begin is January 31, 2018. Christmas product shipping must start in July of 2018. The budget for each branch is $300,000 for the total production budget. Currently, the production staff includes a total of 124 employees per day shift and 91 at night per plant for a total of 215 employees. Most tasks are covered in both shifts. Current production and shipping personnel per task include:

(Galaxy Toys Management Strategy)

Positions # of Day Shift

Workers

# of Night Shift Workers
Machine Operators 10 5
Machine Maintenance 3 5
Assembly Line Staff 75 60
Electronics Specialists 10 3
Packagers 10 5
Floor Supervisors 1 1
Production IT (computer machine) 1 1
Fork Lift Operators 10 10
Shipping Schedulers 1 0
Plant Maintenance 2 1
Administrative Support

Material Purchase/Secretary

1 0

To complete the Moon Mission to Jupiter’s Europa 1 project, it is projected that additional personnel are needed: Two 3D printer operators for the day shift and two for the night shift. Additionally, instead of having an on-call position for production IT, a full-time night position is needed.

The design and engineering department has provided the product specifications including materials, sizes, and 3D printers and one person per shift to produce the product. Trained personnel are needed for operating the 3D printers. The cost of one complete Moon Mission to Jupiter’s Europa 1 product is set at $7.65, which includes packaging. The 3D printers will produce the completely assembled piece including electronics and packaging in 7.36 minutes and will cost $6100 per printer. Trained personnel are needed to operate the printers.

Step 5: Assume the role of Itza Yu.

Task 1: Explain the role of a manager in the organizing phase of the POLC

Task 2: Identify and discuss five major issues with Galaxy, Inc. that Itza Yu must address in organizing the production floor for both existing production and the new project.

Step 6: Aligning People

Task 1: One of the areas of discussion that must be included in the organizing phase is that of aligning people to the task of production. Create an organizational chart that shows how Yu would organize the people and jobs on the production floor that aligns with the rest of the organization.

Task 2: Discuss why and how the organizational chart was created. This organizational chart will be used, as the template for the other branches within the organization, so be sure the structure of the production floor aligns with the organization of the company.

Step 7: Decision Making Authority(Galaxy Toys Management Strategy)

Task 1: Once you have created the chart, identify the decision making authority/flow for those individuals on the chart.

Task 2: Explain why the structure was chosen and how it best serves the decision making flow for the production floor and the company as a whole.

Step 8: Part Two-Leading Motivation

Read critically and analyze the following scenario:

During the course of production older line staff and machine workers began to see the speed and accuracy for which the 3D printers made its product. An obvious concern began to surface among the workers. The workers began to ask, “Will I still have a job next year?” Morale of plant workers began to suffer. Itza Yu knows that this concern must be addressed and morale needs to be improved. As the manager, Yu know that the business must innovate to keep growing. How can Yu improve morale?

Step 9: Motivation

Task 1: Acting as Joyce Barnhart, what advice should she give to Yu. In discussing the advice, first identify the reasons for the morale problem and how motivation. Be sure to address change and the worker’s reaction to implementing change.

Task 2: Discuss the actual ideas and the specific ways Yu should take to motivate his existing employees that will build morale and keep production levels on track for the current contracts and the new project.

Step 10: Part Three-Control:

3A) Read critically and analyze the following scenario:

The following chart displays the results of the first year’s production of MMTJE1. The table was created from data supplied by the company’s entire production department managed by Keith as a means of controlling production output. It will be used by the VP in his evaluation of areas of improvement, change, or success to processes used by the production department in the production of MMTJE1. The chart describes the standard goal (identified as standard) set by the department and the result each branch obtained. A comparison of the standard to the results allows the reader to form conclusions about the success or failure of the production department to meet the goals envisioned by the company. It also allows the reader to recognize patterns from the data from which conclusions can be drawn as to the relationship between elements (e.g. cost expended vs time expended; those who spent more time had a higher cost).

(Galaxy Toys Management Strategy)

Answer the following required elements for Part Three-3A making sure that the facts of the scenario and the course readings support the reasoning of the answers provided.

Step 11: Standard Specifications

Compare the standard specifications data set with the results from each of the results for the five branches.

Step 12; Interpreting the Results

Task 1: Interpret the results for the new product production chart above.

Task 2: Detail the areas that need improvement as well as those positive conclusions the data suggests.

Step 13: Corrective Action

Task 1: Define what “corrective action” means to the manager in the control function of the POLC.

Task 2: Do you suggest Keith take, if any, corrective action for this report.

Step 13: 3B):(Galaxy Toys Management Strategy)

Read critically and analyze the following scenario:

The next meeting of the long term planning team for Galaxy Toys is scheduled for next week. All the VPs will be there and a report must be given by all as to the viability of the “Moon Mission Jupiter’s Europa 1” toy roll out and the success or failure of the long term goals and objectives.

Keith reviewed his meeting notes with his branch managers when the production results came out. The managers seemed to all talk at once. Most all the managers seem to feel that the project was well worth the effort. It appears that many managers felt that training on the 3D printer in terms of repair and maintenance was the biggest problem. Mexico’s manager, Hernando Gonzalez, said that they lost their trained personnel to a software company and had difficulties finding replacements. The company who supplied the 3D printers provided initial training but follow up training thereafter proved a problem when personnel turnover increased. Gonzalez explained that there is a serious shortage of skilled IT personnel in Juarez. Consequently, finding qualified workers and keeping people without paying more than budget is a major problem. As a result, both the production and the IT departments are losing money. Getting a full time, IT night worker is impossible without a serious budget increase.

Answer the following required elements for Part Three-3B making sure that the facts of the scenario and the course readings support the reasoning of the answers provided.

Step 21: Prepare a report for Keith to present to the planning team

Task 1: Follow a Report Format.

  • Create a title page with title, your name, the course, the instructor’s name and date;
  • Introduction
  • Potential Concerns
  • Relationship Between Control Function and Long-term Planning
  • Recommendations

Task 2: Use the conclusions drawn from the chart in Part Two as well as Keith’s notes from the meeting (noted above) with the branch managers on the production results to identify at least three conclusions that have potential concern for the long-term future of the project and or company.

Task 3: Explain why and how each of the factors chosen would affect the future long-term strategic planning.

Task 4: Examine the relationship between the control process and long term planning as part of the explanation

Task 5: Offer recommendations for solutions that might be introduced along with the issues to the planning committee to address the implications of the factors chosen.

Step 22: Proofread the paper for spelling and grammatical issues, and third person writing.

  • Use the spell and grammar check in Word as a first measure;
  • Have someone who has excellent English skills to proof the paper;
  • Consider submitting the paper to the Effective Writing Center (EWC). The EWC will provide 4-6 areas that may need improvement.

Step 23: Submit the paper in the Assignment Folder.

Interview Human Service Professional

Interview a Human Service Professional

(Interview Human Service Professional)

Research supports the critical role of listening in the client-patient relationship. Effective listening fosters trust, reduces misunderstandings, and enhances therapeutic outcomes (Miller & Rollnick, 2013). Studies indicate that clients who feel genuinely heard are more likely to engage in the therapeutic process and achieve their goals (Rogers, 1957). Thus, listening skills are not only fundamental to establishing rapport but also to the overall success of human service interventions.

In this assignment, you will explore the extent of training and education a chosen health care provider has in listening skills. You can compare your findings with those of your classmates to see the differences that may exist between different professional groups. You may be surprised by the results that you find.

Tasks:

For this assignment, you are to conduct a thirty-minute interview (an ideal interview would be in person or via the telephone, but an e-mail or chat-based interview is also acceptable) with a human service professional (for example, a social worker, community-organizational professional, or a counselor). The focus of the interview should be on the person’s training and education in listening skills. Ask questions to determine whether he or she has had formal training in listening as well as what specific strategies he or she uses to effectively listen to patients or clients.

In addition to your interview, use your textbook, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet to conduct research on how listening skills impact and are critical to a client-patient relationship.

Submission Details:

  • By Week 2, Day 7, prepare a 2 1/2-3 page paper. Your response should rely upon at least two sources from professional literature. This may include the Argosy University online library resources, relevant textbooks, peer-reviewed journal articles, and websites created by professional organizations, agencies, or institutions (.edu, .org, or .gov). Write in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources (i.e., APA format); and use accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

Effective Nursing Communication Strategies

Effective Nursing Communication Strategies

(Effective Nursing Communication Strategies)

Please Do A Comment Base In This Answers. Write At Least 140 Words In Each Answer, Take Reference From (2013-2018) If Is Possible, Academic References

Communication may be described as the process by which information, understanding as well as perception are transmitted from one person to the other as an integral part of a relationship. In nursing, communication is significant and patient care needs to be improved continuously (Huber, 2017). After having the idea of improving patient, I would gather and collect data first from the published trials with the current literature which support innovation. The data I have collected I would compile it in a PowerPoint presentation that includes research information associated with the idea. Then in a staff meeting, I would present my idea. This will help me because my fellow colleagues would assist me to edit the finding and adding more information to make it perfect. I would also have some members to support me so that we can form a team. This team will join me on the board where the upper management will view the presentation. This makes the idea more realistic and only a few people can resist the change. I would present the information to the upper management verbally to ensure that the project importance is understood. I would use the corporate social responsibility model which is reproductive, standardization as well as consistency. Once the trial runs effectively, I would develop another presentation containing the stated problem and statistical research. This information can be presented using the visual graphs as well as employee accounts of experience to ensure that the idea sounds beneficial to staff, budget as well as patients (Jones, 2015). Giving visuals and the actual accounts from the employees are important when influencing the change.

Comment 2

Motivation is an essential part to everyday life, task completion and performance results. Two types of motivation to be discussed are intrinsic and extrinsic. “Intrinsic motivation is something internal, either primal (such as the need to eat) or learned (such as the knowledge of healthful eating). Extrinsic motivation is something external and may be both positive (such as rewards) or negative (such as punishment). Repeated exposure to extrinsic motivation may help create an intrinsic motivation. (Eggenberger, Sherman & Keller, 2014)

When dealing with intrinsic motivation and example that relates to me is that of knowledge of nursing skills. I placed a great deal of motivation into my everyday tasks as a nurse, from practicing proper infection control to medication management and administration. These tasks need to be completed and with precision at that. Extrinsic motivation is a little different, an example that pertains to be would be picking up overtime at work or covering shifts that need to be filled. Currently at my place of employment we are short staffed on our 11pm to 7am shift. My work is offering an incentive to those whom are willing to work of an additional $100 dollars per shift worked. This is a reward that motivated employees to pick up overtime and coverage.

“In any setting, high-performance work teams rarely occur naturally. They must be created and managed. To instill effective teamwork into health care, leaders need to recognize and emphasize its importance. They play a key role in helping a team develop the ability to collaborate effectively, build relationships and trust, innovate, and achieve results at a consistently high level.” ( Repovich, 2013) Characteristic that are essential are communication skills, team work ethics and motivation.
