Community Health Interventions Analysis

(Community Health Interventions Analysis)

Case Study 1

Instructions

Public health officials and communities are responsible for investigating infectious disease cases, as well as making sure they control the spread of the disease within the community. Their ultimate goal is to reduce and prevent future occurrences.

For the Unit V Case Study, respond to the following.

  • Describe an infectious disease in your community and how it is transmitted.
  • Discuss two public health programs or interventions in your community that were created to reduce the spread of the infectious disease identified.
  • Explain if these programs have been successful in the community. What would you change or add to improve the intervention programs?

Your case study must be a minimum of two pages in length, excluding the title and reference pages. To support your ideas, use a minimum of three outside sources; one may be the textbook. Additionally, use a source that focuses on your community, such as a newspaper or journal article.

Remember that all written assignments must be formatted using APA style, including in-text citations and references.

Our communities are constantly faced with health crisis due to the increasing burden of chronic disease. Underlying these conditions are substantial health risk factors, such poor nutrition, alcohol abuse, tobaccos exposure and use, and physical inactivity. Engaging the community in healthier behaviors would greatly reduce the risk for chronic disease and death.

case study 2

For the Unit VI Case Study, complete the following.

  • Describe two chronic diseases that have plagued your community.
  • How do public health officials handle the chronic diseases? Provide examples of interventions and programs.
  • What can you, as a public health official, suggest to improve the interventions or programs?

Your case study must be a minimum of two pages in length, excluding the title and reference pages. To support your ideas, use a minimum of three outside sources; one may be the textbook. Additionally, use a source that focuses on your community, such as a newspaper or journal article.

Remember that all written assignments must be formatted using APA style, including in-text citations and references.

Piaget’S Theory Of Cognitive Development DIscussion Sam 250-300

Piaget’s Theory of Cognitive DevelopmentAnalyze Piaget’s theory by contrasting it with competing viewpoints that have specifically challenged Piaget’s theory. Describe the strengths and weaknesses associated with these different perspectives on cognitive development. Based on your personal or professional experience, what evidence is there that Piaget’s theory is relevant or not relevant to the development of 2-year-olds in today’s society?

StudiesReadingsUse your Infants, Children, and Adolescents text to complete the following:Read Chapter 5, “Physical Development in Infancy and Toddlerhood,” pages 158–199. This chapter focuses on how the infant brain and body develop.Read Chapter 6, “Cognitive Development in Infancy and Toddlerhood,” pages 200–243. In relation to this development, pay special attention to Piaget’s theory of infant cognition and the theories and process of language acquisition.Review the Flaws in Thinking and Scenarios table  and select a common flaw in thinking when considering child development and one of the scenarios linked with it in preparation for this unit’s assignment, if you have not done so already.

Contrasting Cognitive Development Perspectives

Cognitive development, the process by which individuals acquire, process, and understand information, is interpreted differently by various theorists. Two prominent perspectives are those of Jean Piaget and Lev Vygotsky.

Jean Piaget’s theory is grounded in the idea that children progress through four distinct stages of cognitive development: sensorimotor, preoperational, concrete operational, and formal operational. Each stage is characterized by unique cognitive abilities and ways of thinking. Piaget emphasized the role of maturation and intrinsic motivation in learning, suggesting that children construct knowledge through interactions with their environment, driven by processes of assimilation and accommodation.

In contrast, Lev Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory posits that cognitive development is largely a social process. Vygotsky argued that children learn through interactions with more knowledgeable others, such as parents, teachers, and peers. He introduced the concept of the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD), which represents tasks that children can perform with guidance but not yet independently. Language and cultural context are pivotal in Vygotsky’s framework, as they shape thought and learning.

While Piaget focused on stages and individual discovery, Vygotsky emphasized the importance of social interaction and cultural tools in cognitive development. Both theories have profoundly influenced educational practices, underscoring the diverse pathways through which children learn and grow cognitively.

Evaluating Nursing Research Articles

Evaluating Nursing Research Articles

(Evaluating Nursing Research Articles)

Question description

The research articles used for this assignment must be reports of single research studies (use the research articles that you submitted for the literature search).

Literature reviews, program evaluations, psychometric evaluations, systematic reviews and meta-analysis or meta-synthesis are important pieces of evidence but are NOT appropriate for this assignment. The research articles that you identify should meet the following criteria:

  • Be current (published within the last 5 – 8 years)
  • Be complete reports of single research studies
  • Be from a peer-reviewed, scholarly journals

It is preferable that the article is from a scholarly nursing journal, but it is recognized that nurses may be a part of an interdisciplinary research team that publishes in journals outside of the discipline of nursing. In this case, one of the authors of the article must be a nurse. It is imperative that the nursing perspective be present in the research.

This report explores the palliative care in the acute stages in cancer patients. The report gives the health status of adult cancer patients at the end of life stage and highlights the role that nurses play in providing palliative care. The report stresses on having trained nurses do the palliative at the acute stage because they can better define goals as compared to nurses who do not have training in palliative care. The report recommends that with trained nurses better decisions can be made in complex health situations especially at the end of life stage for cancer patients and in providing support to the patient’s family.

Mueller, K., Hamilton, G., Rodden, B., & DeHeer, H. (2014). Functional Assessment and Intervention by Nursing Assistants in Hospice and Palliative Care Inpatient Care Settings. American Journal Of Hospice And Palliative Medicine®, 33(2), 136-143.http://dx.doi.org/10.1177/1049909114555397

This research study assesses the impact of trained nurses offering palliative care in an urban hospice. The study uses four trained nurses to assess the basic functional activities carried out during the palliative care for cancer patients at the end of life. The study also used an intervention group that was trained by the four selected nurses to compare the quality of care. The study found that the intervention group demonstrated a great level of improvement especially in their ability to achieve set goals of the palliative care. The findings from the study suggested that trained nurses can provide good assessment and intervention and this leads to improved health condition and comfort for patients at the end of life.

The report gives details of more aggressive palliative care at the end of life to cancer patients. The report identifies the need for aggressive palliative care as a way of giving comfort to cancer patients and support to the family of the dying patient. The report details symptom management that trained nurses offer to cancer patients at the end of life. The report further explores the role of trained nurses in the provision of palliative care, and it focuses on the bereavement and support of the patient’s family. The report concludes that when patients are given palliative care by trained nurses they have a quality life at the end of life, and the family members go through bereavement with much ease because the nurses understand the best way to connect the two interventions.

Developing an Intake Assessment

Assignment 2: RA 1: Developing an Intake Assessment

(Developing an Intake Assessment)

In this assignment, you will study a case scenario involving the intake of an inmate transfer. Then, you will formulate assessment questions, develop diagnostic impressions, and prepare a report that effectively communicates treatment and other relevant recommendations within a correctional environment.

Review the following scenario:

An inmate, Robert Palmer, at another facility received a disciplinary transfer for assaulting another inmate. Palmer is being transferred to the high-security penitentiary at which you work. Upon entering the office where the intake assessment will take place, Palmer declares that you have power because you are the forensic mental health professional. He states that you need to recommend that he be allowed to live in a single cell (celled alone) or else he will kill himself.

Palmer has a history of various psychiatric diagnoses, including schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, antisocial personality disorder, borderline personality disorder, and malingering. His psychological records show that he has been on a suicide watch at previous institutions due to engaging in self-mutilation and had engaged in highly frequent disruptive behavior at the special housing unit (segregation unit) where he was housed.

Tasks:

You are the forensic professional at the high-security penitentiary assigned to complete an intake assessment of this inmate.

Create a 5- to 7-page document including an intake assessment and a treatment and recommendations report for this inmate, explaining both his history and current evaluation.

Part 1

Intake Assessment (Approximately 1–2 pages):

  1. Identify at least 10–15 intake questions you will ask Palmer given the available background information on him and the manner in which he presented himself to you.
  2. Explain which diagnoses from his past records you suspect are applicable now; support your findings given the inmate’s presentation and behavioral interactions with you.

Part 2

Treatment and Recommendations Report (Approximately 3–5 pages):

  1. Describe the critical concerns you identified in the intake assessment about this inmate with regard to harming himself or others.
  2. Provide recommendations for the inmate’s immediate care.
  3. Provide recommendations for the inmate’s long-term care.
  4. Identify the main concerns of this case that you would want to communicate to other correctional professionals in the institution in order to ensure the inmate is managed effectively, both from clinical and correctional standpoints.

Ethical Deilmmas

Ethical Deilmmas

(Ethical Deilmmas)

the story is:

Pornography

TJ secretly enjoys pornography. He gets a great deal of gratification out of viewing Internet pornography and masturbating, though he always acts behind closed doors and believes that his actions have no effect on others. He justifies his behavior by saying, ‘Who am I harming?’

Then he discovers a statistic on the Global Initiative to Fight Human Trafficking website (http://www.unglobalcompact.org/docs/issues_doc/labour/Forced_labour/HUMAN_TRAFFICKING_-_THE_FACTS_-_final.pdf)  stating that 43% of human trafficking victims are used for forced commercial sexual exploitation, of whom 98% are women and girls, and that the pornography business is a multibillion dollar industry (Global Initiative, n.d.).

His freedom to view pornography is now at odds with harm to himself (addiction) and others (abuse through forced trafficking and media exploitation). (More information can be found at http://www.lifeissues.net/writers/may/may_17pornographycost.html, which is a report by William May called “The Social Costs of Pornography” provided by the Witherspoon Institute out of Princeton [May, 2010].)

How should TJ respond? Should he maintain his lifestyle because of his freedom of choice or should he change his behavior because of the harm done? What is his responsibility for the harm that the pornography industry can cause, even if he himself is not directly harming someone else?

I need the following to be

In this assignment you will analyze the implications of an ethical issue according to your worldview.

Write a 1,000-1,500-word essay in which you analyze ethical thinking and use values-based decision making to address a case study from the perspective of the Christian worldview as compared to your own worldview assumptions. Choose one case study from the five options listed on “Ethical Dilemmas.”

After an appropriate introductory paragraph with thesis statement, in which you name the scenario you are choosing, address each of the following six sections with at least one paragraph each. Use the underlined titles for each of your heading.

  1. Ethical Dilemma: Briefly describe the ethical dilemma in your own words, including (a) What in the scenario makes it difficult to make an ethical decision? and (b) Name at least two options for resolving the scenario, providing a brief overview of what sort of ethical decisions each option might make.
  2. Core Beliefs: What beliefs about God and humanity from the Christian worldview are relevant to the scenario? How might these core worldview commitments of Christians influence one’s decision making with regard to this scenario?
  3. Resolution: Describe the Christian worldview’s proposal for resolving the ethical dilemma. How should the person in the scenario act, according to the Christian worldview? What is the best course of action for a Christian? (Note: The resolution should be consistent with Christian worldview commitments.)
  4. Evaluation: What might be the unintended consequences and perceived benefits of the resolution proposed by the Christian worldview?
  5. Comparison: How does the Christian worldview’s resolution compare to another option?
  6. Conclusion: Synthesize the main points, pulling the ideas of the paper together.

•Data collection plan.

Data analysis and interpretation plan.  Include a statement about how you might use this study to inform your current or future work as a counselor. Describe at least one ethical and one culturally relevant concern to the study.

Written Requirements

•Length of paper: 4–6 pages.

•Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point

This is the template, please read carefully

Evaluation of a Qualitative Study First and Last Name  Capella University

Evaluation of a Qualitative Study For this assignment you will locate an article from the peer-reviewed scholarly journals in your field using one of the databases available in the Capella University Library.  This assignment should be between 4 and 6 pages in length, double-spaced using 12-point Times New Roman font, not counting the title page and reference section.

You will notice the running head contains the words “evaluation of a quantitative study” and it is presented in all capitals. Also, notice that the words “running head” appear only on the first page and just the running head itself appears on subsequent pages. Next, notice that the title on the second page above is centered and capitalized but it is not in bold. This follows the example on page 42 of the APA Manual and also a second example found on page 54.  Below you will notice that headings have been provided for this assignment. They follow the protocols for formatting level one and two headings found on page 62 and the example presented on page 58 of the APA Manual.  It is sound practice to consult the APA Manual for formatting guidance.

In the section immediately under the title, you are to provide a brief introduction to your assignment; however, you should not create a heading that states “Introduction.” You should present your introduction without a heading in order to comply with the guidance offered on page 63 of the APA Manual. Your introduction should tell the reader what the paper is about, such as what study is being evaluated and how your evaluation will proceed.  A single brief paragraph is all that is required. You can find more information about how to develop an introduction at the Capella Writing Center. Evaluation of the Research Problem   In most cases the research problem appears early on in a research report.  However, it is not always set off in its own section with a clear heading identifying it.  You may have to do a bit of detective work to locate the description of the research problem.

(Evaluating Qualitative Research Articles)

In your own words, without using direct quotes, summarize the research problem. Evaluating the Significance of the Problem Address the following questions.

Does the problem statement indicate a counseling issue to study?  You will have to make a judgment call as to whether or not the research article addresses a counseling issue and explain why or why not you have taken this position.   Has the author provided evidence that this issue is important? Briefly describe the evidence presented in the discussion of the research problem that demonstrates this is an important issue deserving of being researched.  Summarize in your own words, not direct quotes, the evidence presented and explain your own view of whether or not this is an important issue. Evaluation of the Literature Review   Sometimes the literature review is nicely organized and set off in its own section with thoughtful headings.  In other instances, comments on the literature associated with the research topic are scattered throughout the research report.

Develop your evaluation of the literature review portion of the article. Points to think about in your evaluation are how well the author(s) tell the story of the topic by synthesizing the literature they have reviewed, and what themes are present in the literature review.  Another point to consider is whether it appears that the author(s) conducted an unbiased review of the literature, presenting more than one possible point of view. Evaluation of Research Purpose Statement and Questions Qualitative is a broad approach to research, consisting of many specific research designs.  Examples are: grounded theory, case study, narrative, phenomenological, and ethnographic.  Each research design has been developed to address certain kinds of research questions. Researchers should explicitly state the name of their chosen research design, but sometimes they do not.

Likewise, sometimes authors state their purpose statement and research questions very clearly and sometimes they do not.  Use your growing knowledge to find these elements in the article you are evaluating.   Formal hypotheses are devices that are used for statistical analyses, so they will probably not appear in qualitative studies. Research Design Name the research design used and briefly, in your own words, describe how this design is going to address what the researchers want to know.  For example, a phenomenological design will explore the lived subjective experience of a group of people who share an experience in common. Research Purpose Statement The research purpose statement declares the intent of the study.

An example is: The purpose of the study is to use phenomenological research to explore the lived experience of intentionally childfree Hispanic women.

Identify the research purpose statement, and offer your thoughtful opinion on how the author(s) presented their purpose.  If you found the purpose statement lacking, be specific as to why.  Research Questions Research questions may be stated as questions or declarative statements.  They have a specific focus.  An example is:  what is the lived experience of intentionally and permanently childfree Hispanic women? Sometimes the research questions are clearly identified in a research report, other times you have to look for them, and sometimes they are not presented at all.  Examine your article and list the research questions if they are presented.

(Evaluating Qualitative Research Articles)

Offer your opinion on how well the research question was developed.  There may be more than one research question.

Evaluation of Data Collection Plan   In your own words, without using direct quotes, describe how participants were selected for this study.

Identify the type of sampling strategy that was used in this research study.  It will probably be explicitly stated in the article, using terms such as convenience, purposeful or snowball.

Explain why you have taken this position (other than, it says so in the article).  Offer your opinion of how the selection of participants could be improved in order to produce a stronger study.  Go beyond simply saying the sample could be larger, which would not demonstrate your growing knowledge of the purpose of specific sampling strategies.  Remember, the purpose of sampling is different for qualitative studies than it is for quantitative studies.  In qualitative studies, the goal is not to be able to generalize findings from the sample to the population.  Selection of Participants In your own words without using direct quotes, describe how participants were selected for this study.

Offer your assessment of what type of sampling was used in this research report. Offer your opinion of how the selection of participants could be improved in order to produce a stronger study. Gaining Permission Qualitative research is usually more intrusive than quantitative research because qualitative researchers typically spend more time at the research site and engage with the participants more directly than quantitative researchers. As a result, qualitative researchers have to be more sensitive and thoughtfully respect individual participants and research sites. Briefly summarize how the researchers gained permission to enter the research site and also how they obtained informed consent from the research participants to gather data. Offer an evaluation of whether or not the researchers gained permission according to ethical standards.  If this is not described in the research report, offer a brief explanation of how you would have gained permission and consent if you were conducting the research project.

Determining the Data to Collect In your own words, without using direct quotes, briefly describe the data that was collected in order to fulfill the study’s purpose and answer the research questions. The primary forms of data in qualitative research are observations, interviews and questionnaires, documents, and audiovisual materials. Which of these forms of data were collected? Were any other forms of data collected? Offer an evaluation of the appropriateness of the data that was collected in order for meeting the study’s goals. Recording Data Data recording protocols are usually forms designed by qualitative researchers to record information during interviews and observations. Did the researcher(s) describe the protocols they used?  If so, what were they? Offer an evaluation of the effectiveness of these protocols. If they are not described, what protocols would you recommend for this study?

Evaluation of Data Analysis and Interpretation Plan   In order to develop this section you may refer to the sections of the course text which address data analysis and interpretation for specific qualitative research designs.  Most of the data collected by qualitative researchers involves transcripts of interviews and field notes.  Some kind of coding of the data takes place.

There are many specific procedures for coding and analyzing the data.  Two specific strategies are thematic analysis and the constant comparative method. Preparing and Organizing Data for Analysis In your own words, briefly describe how the researcher(s) prepared and organized their data for analysis. Offer an evaluation of the effectiveness of this process. If this is not described in the research report, explain how you would have done it.

(Evaluating Qualitative Research Articles)

Exploring and Coding the Data In your own words, briefly describe how the researcher(s) explored and coded the data. Offer an evaluation of the effectiveness of this process. If this is not described in the research report, explain how you would have done it.

Using Codes to Build Description and Themes In your own words, briefly describe how the researcher(s) built description and themes. Offer an evaluation of the effectiveness of the process. If this is not described in the research report, explain how you would have done it. Representing and Reporting Findings Typically qualitative findings are presented in tables, figures and narrative. In your own words, briefly describe how the researcher(s) reported their findings. Offer your opinion of how effectively you feel their findings were presented and offer suggestions for improvement.  Interpreting Findings Qualitative researchers must step back and form larger meanings about the phenomenon under investigation based on their personal views, comparisons with past studies described in the literature, or both. Offer an evaluation of the meaningfulness of the interpretation provided in the research report.

Briefly summarize the limitations of the study pointed out by its author(s). If no limitations are offered, present what you consider to be its limitations. Validating the Accuracy of the Findings. Typically, qualitative researchers rely on three techniques to validate their findings: triangulation, member checking, and external auditing. Briefly summarize how the researchers validated their findings. Offer an evaluation of the effectiveness of the process. If they do not describe how this was done, explain how you would have validated the findings.

Evaluation of Ethical and Culturally Relevant Strategies Qualitative research typically involves entering the research site for an extended period of time, and extensively interacting with participants. Interviews may involve collecting in-depth and highly personal information. In your opinion, how well did the researcher(s) address ethical issues?   If the research report does not provide this information, what steps would you have taken if you were doing the research? Conclusion Offer your overall assessment of the quality of the research report.   Explain how you could use the information in the research report to inform your own work in the counseling profession.

Characteristics of Effective Prevention Programs

Characteristics of Effective Prevention Programs

Characteristics of Effective Prevention Programs

“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
–Benjamin Franklin

Mental health services can target families and couples already experiencing severe problems, those couples and families experiencing common life stage transitions, and even couples and families that have not yet shown any signs of difficulty at all. Primary prevention seeks to intervene with the latter group on a mass scale with the goal of impacting the greatest number of couples and families as possible. As attractive as primary prevention sounds, and equally common-sensical and time-honored, the development and implementation of primary preventative interventions and programs proves difficult. For instance, it is difficult to measure the impact of an intervention or program that seeks to forestall some future outcome that may be one or more years away. Fortunately, much research has been conducted on what constitutes an effective, or good, preventative intervention or program. The dilemma for mental health professionals as a whole, and for you as a future marriage, couple, and family counselor, is how to carve out space in your professional work for the creation and development of prevention programming. This is challenging because in clinical practice, the majority of time and money may be spent on tertiary prevention or remedial counseling.

To prepare for this Discussion, use the Internet to find a prevention program for an area of professional interest. Consider how this program is effective or ineffective using the characteristics of effective programs outlined in the Learning Resources.

With these thoughts in mind:

Post by Day 4 the title for the prevention program you selected. Describe three characteristics that make this program effective and explain why. Then, describe at least one characteristic that the program is lacking. Finally, explain how you would redesign the program to effectively incorporate the missing characteristic.

Be sure to support your postings and responses with specific references to the Learning Resources.

Professional Development Plan3

Professional Development Plan3

(Professional Development Plan3)

A professional development plan is crucial for advancing one’s career and enhancing skills. It begins with a self-assessment to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for growth. Setting clear, achievable goals is paramount, aligning with both short-term milestones and long-term aspirations. Continuous learning is essential; seeking out training, workshops, and educational opportunities relevant to one’s field ensures staying current and competitive.

Networking plays a vital role; connecting with peers, mentors, and industry leaders fosters collaboration, knowledge sharing, and potential career opportunities. Additionally, seeking feedback regularly aids in personal and professional growth, allowing for reflection and refinement of skills.

Time management is key; balancing professional development activities with work responsibilities requires effective prioritization and organization. Finally, revisiting and revising the plan periodically ensures it remains relevant and adaptive to changing circumstances and career goals. By following a well-crafted professional development plan, individuals can chart a course toward success and fulfillment in their careers.

  • Summary and Conclusions: Includes the following but is not limited to a summary of the project, a summary of main points and findings, the significance of project to the nursing profession, and any recommendations for future research.
  • References
  • Appendices

o Describe the project aim: The project aim should include examples of features and functions that will occur as a result of implementing your change project.

o Describe the project value: The value should describe the benefits of the change project implementation to the stakeholders, the organization, and the nursing profession.

o Describe the desired outcomes: Specifically, state the purpose, quality focus, and viewpoint of the project as well as its expected accomplishments. A project goal should reference the project’s business benefits in terms of cost, time, and/or quality that address individual and family healthcare needs or changes, results, impacts, or consequences that the project has on people, programs, or institutions. Goals and objectives should be measurable, shared, and agreed on by all key stakeholders. They are directly linked to the concept of project success factors.

(indicators/metrics) are cost savings, improved efficiencies, access to care (visits/procedures/admissions), patient/family satisfaction, associate satisfaction, associate engagement, retention, clinical outcomes, injury prevention, risk reduction, etc.

Research Proposal

Research Proposal

(Research Proposal)

The written research proposal will be created based on a narrowly defined aspect of the topic selected in Week One. A research proposal is a detailed plan for a specific study to be conducted at a future time. It is the document which potential researchers typically submit to an institutional review board (IRB) for ethical review and approval, and/or to funding agencies to secure financial support for a research effort. Because it is a plan for research which has not yet been conducted, the Methods section should be written in the future tense and should not contain any hypothetical results. The paper must address all of the components required in the Methods section of a research proposal. The following actions must be completed.

  • State the research question and/or hypothesis.
  • Briefly compare the characteristics of the major research paradigms used in previous studies on the chosen topic. Introduce the specific approach (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods), research design, sampling strategy, data collection procedures, and data analysis techniques to be used in this study. Provide a short explanation as to why the selected procedures are more feasible than other alternatives for the research topic.
  • Describe any relevant variables, measures, and statistical tests.
  • Apply ethical principles and professional standards to the proposed psychological research. Provide an analysis of any ethical issues that may arise and explain how these issues will be resolved.

The following headings for the required sections and subsections must appear in the paper. In accordance with APA style, all references listed must be cited in the text of the paper.

  • Introduction
    • Introduce the research topic, explain why it is important, and present an appropriately and narrowly defined research question and/or hypothesis.
  • Literature Review
    • Evaluate the published research on the chosen topic including a minimum of three peer-reviewed articles. Summarize the current state of knowledge on the topic, making reference to the findings of previous research studies. Briefly mention the research methods that have previously been used to study the topic. State whether the proposed study is a replication of a previous study or a new approach employing methods that have not been used before. Be sure to properly cite all sources in APA style.
  • Methods
    • Design – Create a feasible research design that incorporates appropriate methods to address the topic. Indicate whether the approach of the proposed study is qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods. Identify the specific research design, and indicate whether it is experimental or non-experimental. Evaluate the chosen design and explain why this design is feasible and appropriate for the topic and how it will provide the information needed to answer the research question. Cite sources on research methodology to support these choices. Include a minimum of two peer-reviewed sources.
    • Participants – Identify and describe the sampling strategy to be used to recruit participants for the study. Estimate the number of participants needed, and explain why this sampling method is appropriate for the research design and approach.
    • Procedure/Measures – Apply the scientific method by describing the steps to be taken in carrying out the study. Identify any test, questionnaire, or measurement instrument to be utilized. If an existing published instrument will be employed, briefly describe it and cite the source. If an original questionnaire, survey, or test will be created for the project, describe the types of information that will be collected with it and explain how the validity and reliability of the instrument will be established. If such an instrument will not be used, describe how the data will be collected for the study.
    • Data Analysis – Describe the statistical techniques (if quantitative) or the analysis procedure (if qualitative) to be used to analyze the data. Cite at least one peer-reviewed source on the chosen analysis technique.
    • Ethical Issues – Analyze the impact of ethical concerns on the proposed study, such as confidentiality, deception, informed consent, potential harm to participants, conflict of interest, IRB approval, etc. After analyzing the ethical issues that apply to the project, indicate what will be done to handle these concerns.
  • Conclusion
