Question description

I need this essay to be rewritten; however, same format. The Child Development Assessment Revised 3 (4). docx

(Well Child Assessment2)

Child’s initials: A. J., male, caucasian

Age: 11

Born: December 21st

57 inches tall, 78 lbs

3 siblings: 23 year old half brother, 21 year old half sister, 13 year old brother (biological)

Father is a Lieutenant Commander in the military. Father works 5 days a week, leaves at 6 in the morning, returns after 6pm. Father has strict rules, authoritarian household

Mother is a hairstylist. Works part-time. Arrives home to meet children at the bus.

Parent DO NOT SMOKE. The only strain on growth development is the parenting style: authoritarian.

Autocratic Leadership (Authoritarian) Leadership: Autocratic leaders make independent decisions without communicating, collaborating and consulting with others. These leaders state what has to be accomplished, when it must be done, and how it should be done. Families who use an autocratic or authoritarian parenting are typically strict and the leader has control and authority over the other family members. Some families that use the autocratic or authoritarian parenting style are considered patriarchal, with the father as the leader, and others are considered matriarchal with the mother as the person with the power and control over other members of the family.

Family dysfunction, as defined by the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA), is the “psychosocial, spiritual, and physiological functions of the family unit are chronically disorganized , which leads to conflict, denial, of problems, resistance to change, ineffective problem solving, and a series of self perpetuating crises”.

Some of the many stressors and crises that can impact on the family unit include poverty, homelessness, abuse, neglect, substance related abuse including alcoholism, divorce, separation, psychological illness, maturational and developmental crises such as the birth of a new baby, role changes, power shifts, and physical illnesses.

Theorists: Eric Erickson

Psychosocial Development of Middle Childhood(Well Child Assessment2)

Erikson’s theory of industry versus inferiority explains the psychosocial development of middle childhood.

The energy of children during middle childhood development is directed towards creativity and productivity. They strive to accomplish competence at useful skills and tasks to attain social recognition among the adults and children in their environment.

SELF-ESTEEM DEVELOPMENT DURING MIDDLE CHILDHOOD

Self-esteem is based on how children perceive themselves in the areas that are important to them.

Healthy self-esteem is built on positive self-concept, which gets pronounced during middle childhood years.

From age 6 to10 are the early school years, when children establish their own identity. Individuality and independence is first experienced by children during this phase of development.

Self-esteem of middle childhood children is very high

They have high self-esteem; respect themselves and the family to which their own identity is linked. They begin to mark their own social stand in appearance, behavior and capabilities in comparison to those around them.

Their capabilities and social status influence their self-concept and consequently their self-esteem. At this stage of childhood development children judge themselves according to their ability to produce socially valued outputs.

Building healthy self-esteem is a continuous process. It starts in child’s own mind as a part of psychosocial development of middle childhood.

As children advance through school years, they associate their self-esteem in three separate facets; academic, social and body image.

Low self-esteem impairs school performance & social relationships

The danger of inadequate self-esteem development arises in children whose personality development has been hampered by early childhood trauma.

These children are usually poor achievers; they lack their basic self-esteem essential to build overall confident personality. They are likely to suffer from inferiority complex unless intervened early by positive reinforcement by parents and teachers.

PSYCHOSOCIAL DEVELOPMENT AND PARENT-CHILD RELATIONSHIP(Well Child Assessment2)

The desire for independence and growing individuality move children into the world that is a little distant from that of their parents. They assert their will, defy authority and resist parental interference. This is often misinterpreted as disrespectful behavior.

Children however recognize the need for the parents’ support. They respect parents’ knowledge and skills and strive to seek parents’ acceptance. Emotional deprivement leaves them lonely and in pain. Co-regulation prevents social and emotional disharmony in children.

Emotional Deprivement Leaves Children Lonely & In Pain3Save

CO-REGULATION

Co-regulation implies that parent to child communication need to be a bilateral dynamic process rather than simple exchange of information. This form of child parenting is also known as democratic parenting.

Here the words and the tone of conversation are adjusted based on perceptions, facial expressions and body language of the child.

Since children get the liberty to express their views, they do not resist sharing information or avoid participating in a discussion.

Co-regulation helps parents to hold oversight and gives children the desired independence and the responsibility.

COPING WITH SIBLING RIVALRY

Sibling rivalry is a normal phenomena of psychosocial development of childhood. It is the reflection of competitive attitude of children to achieve recognition among the adults and children in their environment: Essential process for healthy self-esteem and personality development.

Siblings are companions, who help and comfort each other through difficult tasks and difficult times. Elder sibling usually attains higher IQ and better school grades as a result of parental expectation of mature behavior. The younger gains more peer popularity attributed to development of better negotiating and compromising capabilities.

COMPARISON PERPETUATES SIBLING RIVALRY

Comparison of siblings’ traits, abilities, and accomplishments by the parents leads to an increase in sibling rivalry and may even perpetuate jealousy between them.

When siblings are close in age and of the same sex, parental comparisons take place more frequently, which results in more quarrelling and antagonism among the siblings.

BUILDING PEER GROUP RELATIONSHIPS

Psychosocial development of middle childhood focuses on peer relationship. Children at this age conform readily to the peer group norms in order to win social acceptance. They seek acceptance both from elders and peer group by their ability to produce socially valued outputs.

Peer group provides a context in which children practice cooperation, leadership and followership, and develop a sense of loyalty to collective goals.

During middle childhood, friendships are fairly stable. Friends chosen tend to be of the same age, sex, and ethnicity.

Attribution Theory and Performance.

Attribution Theory and Performance.

(Attribution Theory and Performance.)

Prior to beginning this assignment, be sure to read Chapter 4: Cognition, Learning, and the Environment, and read the article “Extending Attribution Theory: Considering Students’ Perceived Control of the Attribution Process”, the Instructor Guidance, and view the following website The Critical Thinking Community (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. (http://www.criticalthinking.org/).

For this written assignment, you will demonstrate your understanding  of attribution theory. In essence, attribution theory states that  individuals tend to make sense of (logically prescribe) situations by  associating them to self, others, thoughts, feelings, or actions. This  theory suggests that learners should consider why they do what they do,  and what or who they are giving credit for both the victories and the  failures. Further, this theory suggests that if a person believes that  they are not good at something, they may attribute their unsuccessful  outcomes to external factors, rather than to themselves. In contrast, if  individuals have success, they more often may attribute their successes  to internal factors.

Using your required resources to support, discuss the following:

  • Describe a time where you feel you have failed and blamed someone  else: the teacher, the friend, a loved one. (Failure could be academic,  relational, and/or organizational – loss of a job.)
  • Do you believe that you blamed external things to support a more  stable version of your own self-image? (In other words, it could not be  your mistake). If not, what other reasons might external variables be  attributed for our own performance?
  • How do think stability and controllability affect performance attributions, based on our reading this week?
  • Why do you think that self-efficacy plays such a critical role in how we process our learning behaviors?
  • What strategies could be applied to utilize what we know about  self-perception and attributions to increase your learning performance  in the future? (Minimum of two strategies.)

Suggested template.

The Attribution Theory paper

  • Must  formatted according to APA style as  outlined in the Ashford Writing Center (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site..
  • Must include a separate title page with the following:
    • Title of paper
    • Student’s name
    • Course name and number
    • Instructor’s name
    • Date submitted
  • Must use headings and sub-headings. See example. (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.
  • Must use appropriate research methods (e.g. use of the Ashford  library) and skeptical inquiry (http://www.criticalthinking.org/) to  support the content inclusions.
  • Must begin with an introductory paragraph that has a succinct thesis  statement. Visit the Ashford writing Center to clarify how to create a  strong thesis statement and what it helps you to accomplish. You may  also use the Thesis Generator (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.
  • Must address the topic of the paper with critical thought. For  assistance with the critical thinking portion of the written assignment,  please see the information included on the Critical Thinking Community website (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site..
  • Must end with a conclusion that reaffirms your thesis. The  conclusion typically has two parts: the summary statement (one or two  sentences that restate the thesis in a fresh way to reinforce the  essay’s main idea) and the clincher (a final thought that creates a  lasting impression for the reader).
  • Must use at least one scholarly source from the Ashford University Library, in addition to the required e-book.
  • Must document all sources in APA style, as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

Final Quality Healthcare

Final Quality Healthcare

(Final Quality Healthcare)

For your final Portfolio Project, you will write a paper detailing a risk management plan based on the following case study scenario. Your goal is to identify areas of risk and healthcare/medical error, and to safeguard future patients from having their safety compromised in a manner similar to what occurred in this case study. Your risk management plan must include:

  • A root-cause analysis
  • At least three recommendation(s) for improvement
  • Two recommendations for how this situation could be avoided
  • Identification of all roles in your analysis
  • Quality, risk, and performance improvement diagrams and charts to support your analysis (e.g., a fishbone or other visual form of root-cause analysis, Pareto chart, tables, etc.)
  • Commentary that relates the case broadly to what you have learned throughout the course and describes the roles played by quality management and regulation to prevent unfortunate occurrences such as the case described

Your paper should meet the following requirements:

  • Be 10-12 pages in length, not including the cover or reference pages.
  • Be formatted according to APA Requirements.
  • Provide support for your statements with in-text citations from a minimum of eight (8) scholarly references—four (4) of these references must be from outside sources and four (4) may be from course readings, lectures, and textbooks.
  • Utilize headings to organize the content in your work.

The case is as follows:(Final Quality Healthcare)

You are the Chief Risk Management Officer for a large metropolitan not-for-profit teaching hospital. You have been assigned this case by the Chief Executive Officer due to the potentially sensitive nature of the situation and the CEO’s personal interest in disadvantaged and ethnic minority population groups. Your goal is to do a thorough risk analysis and create a risk-management plan as part of the overall quality management program for this facility based on the following case scenario.

A female patient, age 25 years, presents in the emergency room with pain in the right side of her lower abdomen. Her last name is Jonesky. She has been ill and vomiting for two days. The patient is triaged and asked to take a seat in the emergency room waiting area until she can be seen. Additionally, the patient speaks only Russian, and her husband, who is the only family member with her, speaks limited English, with Russian being his primary language.

Several hours have passed and the patient is still sitting in the emergency room, in extreme pain. The husband approaches the emergency room desk to try to communicate that his wife is worsening and in extreme pain. After several minutes of discourse, the patient is taken back into an examination room to be seen.

She is diagnosed with appendicitis and requires removal of her appendix. She is sent to a holding area outside of the operating room where she will wait to be taken into surgery. Upon her arrival, a nurse asks her name and due to the fact that the patient only speaks Russian, her name, “Jonesky” sounds very much like “Jones” to the nurse. Then anesthesiologist arrives and interviews the patient. Simultaneously, another emergency patient is brought into the holding area of the operating room. Her name is Samantha Jones. Samantha has fallen down icy steps and has broken her left ankle, which now needs to be repaired. This is a very busy night for the operating room. Additional staff members, who have already worked a full eight-hour shift, are called in to attend to this second case.

Both patients are interviewed and taken into ORs for their procedures. Since it is late, both surgeons do the required time-out procedure, but not as judiciously as they would have during the day. Staff members in attendance for both cases implicitly go along with their surgeon’s order and surgery following a time-out procedure that was not complete. As the first surgical procedure begins, the surgeon makes an incision into Mrs. Jonesky’s ankle and there is no sign of any broken bone. He realizes there is a problem. Additionally, in the second OR, the surgeon operating on Samantha Jones makes an incision and finds no sign of appendicitis. Both surgeons operated on wrong sites due to incorrect identification of the patient.

Strength & Weakness of EBPH

Discussion—Strength and Weakness of the EBPH in Defining a Public Health Problem

(Strength & Weakness of EBPH)

Based on the readings assigned and suggested for this week and a review of the seven-stage, sequential framework to promote greater use of EBPH, do the following:

The application of evidence-based principles to a public health issue demands a scientific quantification of said public health issue. An integral component of the community assessment should include the targeted health condition or risk factor being considered, the population affected, the size and scope of the problem, prevention opportunities, and potential stakeholders. To aid in this task, epidemiology and the US surveillance system are applied to track and obtain necessary information about the frequency of the health condition or risk factor in an affected population.

Although data from surveillance systems can be used to obtain baseline and follow-up measurements for target populations, there may be limitations when using the data to evaluate intervention effectiveness for narrowly defined populations. In such a case, it may be necessary to estimate the frequency of disease or other health condition for the target population by using special surveys or appropriate study designs. Understanding the tradeoffs of various study designs will improve how you evaluate the effects of various public health programs and policies.

Review the study designs from the readings assigned and suggested for this week and present a brief summary of the appropriateness and advantages of using each study design as part of your effort to quantify the public health issue that you identified in Week 1 as part of your community assessment.

Write your initial response in approximately 300 words.

By the due date assigned, post your response to the appropriate Discussion Area. Through the end of the week, review and comment on at least two peers’ responses. Consider commenting on their stated advantages of using a specific study design. Do you agree or disagree with their stated advantages and why?

Support your answers with examples and research. Your responses should clarify your understanding of the topic. They should be your own, original, and free from plagiarism. Follow the APA format for writing style, spelling and grammar, and citation of sources.

Evaluation Criteria:

  • Summarized the appropriateness and advantages of using each study design as part of the effort to quantify a public health issue as part of the community assessment.
  • Responses demonstrated in-depth research and analysis.
  • Justified your answers with appropriate research and reasoning.
  • Commented on the postings of at least two peers.

Research Analysis & Action Plan

Research Analysis & Action Plan-Original Work Only

(Research Analysis & Action Plan)

– No Plagiarism

Please follow specific guidelines-this is a VERY difficult instructor- do not offer if not able to create original ON TOPIC work- see below for case study chosen:

Preparation

Return to the case study that you considered in Assessments 1 and 2.

  • Identify two or three psychological theories and principles that help to explain the reasons for the problem and point toward potential solutions for it.
  • Use the Capella University Library to locate at least three scholarly research studies in an area of psychology relevant to the problem. If you have had the opportunity to conduct or assist formal research in an academic or professional context, you may be able use the study in this assessment. However, if you wish to do so, e-mail a copy of the study to your instructor and ask for confirmation that it is appropriate for the assessment.

Instructions(Research Analysis & Action Plan)

Complete the following:

  • Create a title page: Write a brief title that concisely conveys the purpose of this report. It is suggested that you use the APA Paper Template, linked in the Resources under the Suggested Resources heading, to format your paper to format your work according to the APA manual (sixth edition).
  • Write an introduction: For the introduction section of your paper, include the title at the top of the first page and begin your introduction two spaces beneath your title. (In APA format, the word Introduction is not used as a heading.) Briefly summarize:
    • The case you have chosen.
    • A high-level summary of ethical and cultural issues that you identified in the case.
    • How theories and research, in general terms, help explain the problems in the case and point toward solutions.
    • How the case relates to a larger societal problem or problems.
  • Create a heading titled Case Issues: Review the case issues, including the ethical and cultural issues, in more detail.
  • Create a heading titled Theoretical Framework: Analyze how two or three psychological theories help explain the problem and point toward potential solutions. In doing so, cite relevant principles or concepts derived from these theories. For example:
    • Let us say that we are assisting an adolescent from Germany who has moved to United States, and is having a rough time adjusting to her new high school. In addition to information gathered from her, her parents, and the school, we could consider Erikson’s psychosocial theory and the stage of identity and role confusion in which adolescents search to establish their own values, beliefs, and goals. During this important time of identity development, the teen has been immersed in an entirely different culture with values and beliefs different from the one with which she knows. We could consider to what extent she was mastering the stage prior to and then after the move. Based on sociocultural theory, we would enquire about the differences in culture that may be impinging on her success in interacting in her new environment. By integrating the two theories, we can get a better understanding of how her developmental stage is clashing with her sociocultural context. We might search for research on adolescent development and cross-cultural experiences to get a better understanding of what research demonstrates is effective in assisting teenagers in this position.
  • Create a heading titled Related Research: Summarize at least three research studies that pertain to the problem. A summary will provide your reader with a clear understanding of the purpose of the study, the methods, and the findings.
    • Describe the research designs and methods used in the studies.
    • Use principles of critical thinking to evaluate the quality of the research and analyze the relevance to the problem.
      • Evaluate how the research methods employed support the studies’ findings.
      • Analyze how the studies’ findings explain reasons for the problem and point toward potential solutions.
      • Analyze how the studies’ findings relate to the psychological theories you previously cited.
      • Compare findings of the studies and assess how they support or contradict each other.
      • See if any contradiction is apparent. If so, try to explain why the contradiction may have developed and which position is more credible and why.
  • Create a heading titled Action Plan: Based on your theoretical and research findings as well ethical and cultural considerations, provide an action plan with recommendations for how to resolve the problem you researched in a fair and just manner.
    • Make clear how the objectives of your plan are specific, measurable, achievable, and relevant to the problem, and the timeline for implementation should be.
    • Integrate information from your sources to support your recommendations.
  • Create a heading titled Conclusion: Briefly summarize the importance of the problem, how psychological theories, principles, and research may point to ways improve the problem, and the implications for a larger societal problem or problems.

Keep in mind throughout this assessment that while your writing must conform to APA standards, you must explain all information in a manner that can be easily understood by a nonacademic or nonscientific audience.

Additional Requirements(Research Analysis & Action Plan)

Your assessment should meet the following requirements:

  • Written communication: Written communication is well organized and free of errors that detract from the overall message.
  • APA style: Comply with current APA style and formatting.
  • Number of resources: A minimum of three academic resources.
  • Length: 6–8 typed, double-spaced pages, excluding cover page and references.
  • Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point.

here is the case study:

Maria, a 70-year-old Hispanic woman, lives with her daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter in a spacious home on the lake. She enjoys reading on the patio, walking along the river’s edge, and taking her granddaughter to the park. She is fluent in Spanish, yet understands and speaks a little English.

Angel, Maria’s daughter, has noticed some behavioral changes in her mom that are troublesome. Her mom fell while walking to the car before they left for the restaurant and she had fallen the week before when walking into living room. Sara, Maria’s granddaughter, told her mom that she had to hold Grandma’s hand and bring her home from the park because she forgot how to get home.

Angel called the doctor and scheduled an appointment for her mom. Once Maria learned her daughter was planning to take her to the doctor Friday, she was very upset because she hadn’t been consulted first. Also, Maria didn’t have any bothersome symptoms and decided there was no reason a doctor needed to see her. All she needed was more sleep.

Maria and Angel arrived at the doctor’s office early Friday morning. The nurse brought them back to the examination room upon arrival as they were the first appointment of the day. Displeased, Maria allowed the nurse to take her weight, pulse, and blood pressure. Once the nurse was finished, she left the room and the doctor came in. While asking Maria some questions, the doctor spoke slowly and loudly as if she couldn’t hear. After the doctor learned that Maria’s understanding and speaking of English was minimal, he talked to Angel the entire time and then ordered additional tests without Maria’s consent. Maria was furious and wanted to go home.

Consider the individual, family, cultural beliefs and expectations, and ethical issues the individuals must think about as they interact with each other.

Ecology Of Health Behavior

Ecology Of Health Behavior

(Ecology Of Health Behavior)

The ecology of health behavior examines the complex interplay between individual, social, and environmental factors that influence health-related actions. This approach acknowledges that behavior is shaped not only by personal choices and motivations but also by broader contexts such as community norms, policy environments, and cultural influences.

At the individual level, health behavior is affected by factors such as knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and skills. Psychological aspects, including self-efficacy and risk perception, also play crucial roles. Social determinants include family, peers, and social networks that provide support, model behaviors, and establish norms. Community and organizational influences encompass workplace policies, educational settings, and local healthcare systems, which can either facilitate or hinder healthy behaviors.

Environmental factors extend to the availability and accessibility of resources such as safe parks, grocery stores with healthy food options, and healthcare facilities. Public policies, including regulations on tobacco, alcohol, and food marketing, as well as broader economic and social policies, significantly impact health behaviors.

By considering these interconnected layers, the ecological model helps identify leverage points for interventions and highlights the importance of creating supportive environments and policies that promote healthy behaviors at multiple levels.

Proper Citation of Sources

Proper Citation of Sources, history homework help

(Proper Citation of Sources)

Question description

so basically it is 10 pages and you can write it about any important person from 1500 – 2000 as long as it meets requirements and is eligible as an important person. make sure you have works cited. and I will copy paste the description of the paper because it might not show if I attach it. so read it and let me know if you understand it.

The research paper is of your choice as long as it covers the period that is being cover in the course. The paper will be 10 pages in length, double spaced, using 12 point font, submitted online. This should be similar to any paper you would write for other classes – including a title page, an introduction, body of text, a conclusion, and references/bibliography. APA or MLA format is acceptable.

Proper Citation of Sources.

When writing papers which use information from researched sources, it is necessary to provide complete and correct documentation to show the source of all words and ideas which are not those of the student.Failure to cite a source implies that the information used is the original work of the paper writer – a form of stealing known as “plagiarism.”In the college class, plagiarism is grounds for failure, no matter how well written the rest of the paper may be.

Do not use first person or contractions when writing. Also, remember that a successful term paper is not one that is written at the last moment, rather it is one that has been thought out, written, edited, and edited some more (you may consider turning in a rough draft or talking with me prior to the due date if you areunsure about how to approach writing the paper).Make sure you proofread!Nothing detracts from a paper (or grade) worse than a poorly written, mistake-filled paper.

When writing this research paper, you should attempt to address the following questions: Comprehensive introduction ( includes who, what, where , and when) with clear thesis statement that answers the question.

Annotated Bibliography for CRNA

(Annotated Bibliography for CRNA)

Question description

Create a document in Word that is formatted as an annotated bibliography.

Hi! I need a help with an assignments. My carrier of interest is CRNA Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. I’m in Bachelor’s program. The first assignments is due tomorrow, and the second is in one week.

Guidelines for assignments 1:

Create a document in Word that is formatted as an annotated bibliography. On the document, list four (4), varied sources you will use in your final career interest project. Be sure to provide the essential information for each source including author name(s), title of the source, and other details. Under the citation of each source, write an original paragraph of 3-5 sentences telling what is contained in the source (summarize when appropriate) and why the source could be relevant to your project.

RememberSelect ONE citation method you want to use based on your academic degree program. Return to Lesson 4 if you need to see the list of disciplines and their corresponding citation styles. The majority of students will probably use APA, but MLA, but Chicago/Turabian may also be used.

The second assignment will be a Power Point on the same topic:

ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS

PROJECT GOAL: Create a multimedia presentation in which you will present information about a career-interest area or field of study interest. In addition, write a reflective paragraph about the product and process.

This presentation you create or a presentation your classmate creates may NOT be used in any other class at APUS or other institution.

For your presentation, include the following elements:

  • Select and use a presentation tool, such as PowerPoint, Prezi, or another choice discussed during the term.
  • For your content, choose a career interest that you might pursue after completing your degree program or a field of study interest that you might pursue within your degree program. If you have not selected a degree yet and do not know what career field you might pursue, review the degree programs listed on the AMU/APU website and select one that piques your interest for additional consideration. (How to Locate the Gainful Employment Information for Your Discipline)
    • Include a presentation title, your name as author, the date, and your course name/section number/session/year.
    • After the title page of your presentation, Introduce your topic on a new slide – summarize the project’s topic
    • On a separate slide, describe your field of study or career interest – explain how the project’s topic relates to your discipline or career interest
    • Provide cited facts about potential salary, work conditions, type of activities included, or other details you have selected, using four (4) or more varied sources.
    • Provide at least four (4) source citations and at least two (2) of the sources must be scholarly sources from the APUS library. Do not include generic web sources such as Wikipedia or About.com
    • Include a Reference (Works Cited, Bibliography) page/slide at the end of your presentation.
    • In addition to an audio-narrated presentation, include at least two (2) more different media forms that enhance your presentation: images, graphics, animation, videos, or audio.
  • Write a 5-8 sentence paragraph reflecting on the finished product and overall process. Your paragraph is to be included in the presentation.
  • Include enough slides to fully develop your presentation.

You have been given a lot of leeway to determine what information is included in your presentation. What do you want your audience (classmates and instructor) to know about your chosen topic? Ultimately, what do YOU want to know and share with your audience?

Please let me know if you need more information from me.

Finding Balance

Finding Balance

(Finding Balance)
Week 1
100 points

Introduce yourself to your classmates and to me.  Write using first person, such as—Hello class, my name is ME, and I want to tell you a little bit about myself and why I am interested in healthcare administration…
Within the context of your intro, share your perspective on the importance of “finding balance” between the roles of healthcare delivery providers, such as nurses and assorted clinicians in a hospital environment next to the business/financial component that drives variables such as costs, length of stay, discharge protocols, admit/surgical denials, and any others.  Further consider that there is (or should be) a synergy among/between patient care providers and bean counters, yet it requires money to keep the beds open and salaries paid—just as it takes the care provided by trained professionals on the units.  How effective is writing “policy” on matters such as these?

This first assignment should be at least two pages in length, double spaced, 12 points font, and the title page is not part of the page count.  If you cite, be sure to include your sources within the essay, and at the end in a separate Reference List.  However, because this assignment is more of an opportunity to opine, sources are not mandatory.

Professional Roles and Responsibilities

Professional Roles and Responsibilities

(Professional Roles and Responsibilities)

Family nurse practitioners (FNPs) are graduate-educated, nationally-certified and state licensed advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) who care for medically stable patients across the lifespan, from infants to geriatric patients.

Share your thoughts

  1. What are the educational requirements to practice as a FNP?
  2. According to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), what is the recommended terminal degree to prepare nurse practitioners.
  3. Who determines the scope of practice for FNPs?
  4. Who defines it? Who Credentials and what is the role of a Professional and Political Organization in defining the role?
  5. See rubric

Discussion 3

Much of the ongoing debate over scope-of-practice (SoP) laws that govern the practice of nurse practitioners (NPs) across the country focuses on the cost of and access to health care and on whether these laws legitimately promote patient safety or are simply anticompetitive restrictions on NPs’ ability to compete with physicians. After completing the following CE activity at Medscape https://www.medscape.org/viewarticle/506277_1 ( sign for the free account), please answer the following questions:

Should an NP who is educationally prepared as an acute care NP work in an adult primary care setting?

Is it within the scope for an FNP to diagnose and treat uncomplicated mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, and ADHD?

Are there any restrictions for the FNP to treat patients with mood disorders and to prescribe them antipsychotics or SSRIs ?

Discussion 4:

CS/SB 614 authorizes  an ARNP to prescribe, dispense, administer, or order any drug, which would include controlled substances.

ARNP disciplinary sanctions are added to the bill in s. 456.072, F.S., (Section 5) to mirror a physician’s sanctions for prescribing or dispensing a controlled substance other in the course of professional practice or failing to meet practice standards. Additional acts for which discipline may be taken against an ARNP relating to practicing with controlled substances that are added to the Nurse Practice Act (Section 10) include:

 Presigning blank prescription forms.

 Prescribing a Schedule II for office use.

 Prescribing, dispensing, or administering an amphetamine or sympathomimetic amine drug, except for specified conditions.

 Prescribing, dispensing, or administering certain hormones for muscle-building or athletic performance.

 Promoting or advertising a pharmacy on a prescription form unless the form also states that the prescription may be filled at the pharmacy of your choice.

 Prescribing, dispensing, or administering drugs, including controlled substances, other than in the course of his or her professional practice.

 Prescribing, dispensing, or administering a controlled substance to himself or herself.

 Prescribing, dispensing, or administering laetrile.

 Dispensing a controlled substance listed in Schedule II or Schedule III in violation of the requirements for dispensing practitioners in the Pharmacy Practice Act.

 Promoting or advertising controlled substances.

After reading the following news article http://c-hit.org/2015/04/06/high-prescribing-nurse-surrenders-drug-licenses/

Identify what issues may arise with prescriptive authority of controlled substances and how you may avoid these situations?
