(Project Deliverable6: Project Plan)

Question description

This assignment consists of four (4) sections: a written project plan, a revised business requirements document, a project plan PowerPoint presentation, and the finalized project plan. You must submit the four (4) sections as separate files for the completion of this assignment. Label each file name according to the section of the assignment it is written for. Additionally, you may create and / or assume all necessary assumptions needed for the completion of this assignment.

While taking all business and project parameters into consideration, make quality assumptions to support the following requirements.

Section 1: Written Project Plan

You are now in the final stage of the project plan development. All previous documentation should be combined into one (1) document that will serve as the statement of work for the project. Your goal is to have the project approved by the executive team. The project plan should be very detailed, which is appropriate to accomplish the monumental task of implementation; however, the executive team is only interested in a thirty (30) minute summation. Therefore, you also must create a compelling executive summary that is supported by your detail that convinces the executive team that it should move forward with your solution.

Develop a thirty to forty (30-40) page project plan in which you:

  • Write a five to ten (5-10) page executive summary in which you provide a high-level technical overview of your project where you address the following:
  1. Describe the scope of the project and control measures.
  2. Describe the goals and objectives of the project.
  3. Give a detailed, realistically estimated cost analysis of the entire project, including technical resources (human capital) that may be needed to complete the project.
  4. Relate the value of the project plan solution to the competitive advantage that information technology will afford the organization.
  5. Provide all aspects of the information technology implementation into the project plan.
  6. Recommend solution providers who can assist with development and implementation. Include a cost analysis of at least three (3) providers.
  • Combine all previous documentation for Project Deliverables 1-5 in which you:
  1. Provide all aspects of the information technology implementation into the project plan.
  2. Revise the documentation based on feedback from the earlier evaluation of the deliverable.
  • Use at least five (5) quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar Websites do not qualify as quality resources.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

  • Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
  • Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.
  • Include charts or diagrams created in MS Visio and MS Project as appendix of the Word document. Make reference of these files in the body of the Word document.

Section 2: Revised Business Requirements Document

  • Document all revisions made to the written project plan in the Document Control section of the business requirements document from Project Deliverable 2: Business Requirements. Note: This documentation must outline the revisions made to the previous deliverables required in Section 1: Written Project Plan.

Section 3: Project Plan PowerPoint Presentation

  • Additional to your detailed executive summary you must present your findings to the executive team and the venture capital group that along with the executive summary will convince the group that your solution is optimal.
  • Create a ten to fifteen (10-15) slide PowerPoint presentation in which you:
  1. Illustrate the concepts from the executive summary in Section 1 of this assignment.
  2. Create bulleted speaking notes for your presentation to the executive board in the Notes section of the PowerPoint. Note: You may create or assume any fictitious names, data, or scenarios that have not been established in this assignment for a realistic flow of communication.
  3. Use a professional technically written style to graphically convey the information.

Section 4: Finalized Project Plan

WK3/kmc Nursing Leadership

WK3/kmc Nursing Leadership

(WK3/kmc Nursing Leadership)

To be a change agent means to transform the environment that needs to be worked upon. “Being a change agent is a major function for nurses. Nurses are on the floor seeing the effects medicine and the health care system is having on the patient” (Keyes, 2017). I personally have yet to act as a change agent, but I have witnessed it in my own facility. Just recently we switched how we handle wound care. The hospital went years without a hospital-acquired wound, and sadly they had

14. Due to the reoccurring issues, a team of nurses, physicians, CNAs, CNO, etc. all gather together to come up with a plan and implement it. Included in this plan was: a turn schedule, inquiring more/better air mattresses, and wound care education for everyone. With the new plan in place, the wounds have decreased and the existing wounds have healed better as well.

In just the last month, our charting system has been updated. Our old system had many complaints, issues, too many steps and overall just wasn’t the best. The new charting is more efficient for the medical staff in that it takes less amount of time to chart. Also, steps and certain things like IVs, wounds don’t have to be re-charted unless there was a change. In addition, with the old charting, the same questions and answers would have to be re-charted when the ER admitted a patient.

With the new charting in place, admissions to the floor take half the time than before. Nurses were definitely on the list when implementing this change. It took some years to come up with a plan and put it into place, but it happened and it works. We use the system probably more than anyone else and voiced our concerns for a change. Nurses “play a critical role in shaping the health care system of the future” (Keyes, 2017) someday I too hope to become a change agent.

Definition Essay

Question description

A definition essay defines a word, term, or concept in depth by providing a personal commentary on what the specific subject means.

A. Most physical objects have a definition about which most people agree.

1. Most people will agree on what trees, windows, computers, and pencils are in general.

2. These objects all have specific physical properties that most people can agree on through the use of their physical senses.

B. However, abstract terms, such as love, pain, or patriotism, have different meanings for different individuals since such terms play on people’s feelings more than their physical senses.

C. The definition essay provides a personal, extended definition of such terms by linking or comparing the term to a previous definition and by illustrating how that term should be applied.

II. Setting up the definition essay

A. Select a subject carefully.

1. Since such essays are personal in nature, select your subject based on your own need to clarify the term.

a. For example, if you feel that the word marriage should be defined in a limited manner, that term would make a good subject for a definition essay.

b. Perhaps as a parent, you want to define what the term discipline means from your point of view.

2. Select a term or subject that you know well enough so that you can provide specific examples to illustrate your definition.

a. For example, if you aren’t familiar with the term platonic love, don’t attempt to define it in an extended essay.

b. The subject of the essay must be familiar enough to you that you can readily supply specific examples.

3. Don’t select a subject either too broad or too narrow to fit the parameters of your essay.

a. For example, the word hat may be too narrow for you to define in an extended essay.

b. On the other hand, the term love may be too broad or general since pinning it down to a single definition is very difficult.

B. Once you have selected a subject, outline your paper carefully before writing.

1. Outlining will help you determine the specific points you want to cover in the definition and point out where you need examples.

2. Here are some suggestions for how to outline a definition paper:

I. Introduction

A. Attention getter

1. You may want to include the traditional or dictionary definition here to provide a basis for your personal definition.

2. You may want to open with a contradictory image to what would be your image to illustrate that definition.

B. Thesis: State how you define the term. If you can write the definition using specific points, you will find the definition easier to follow when writing the paper.

II. Body(Defining Abstract Concepts Personally)

A. Background information:

1. Often unnecessary in this type of paper

2. However, you may need to provide some background about the term or your connection to the term.

B. Point one

1. The first part of your definition of the term.

2. Example to illustrate that point.

3. Analysis of how the example illustrates the point.

C. Point two

1. The second part of the definition of the term.

2. Example to illustrate that point.

3. Analysis of how the example illustrates the point.

D. Point three

1. The third part of the definition (if there is one)

2. Example to illustrate that point.

3. Analysis of how the example illustrates the point.

E. Point four, etc.

III. Conclusion

A. Review your definition’s main points

B. Closing attention getter

1. Sometimes a reference back to the opening attention-getter is a good way of unifying the entire essay.

2. You may want to close with an explanation of how your definition has affected you.

3. Here is the outline for the sample definition paper on patriotism:

I. Introduction

A. Attention getter: Traditional definition of patriotism (as perceived in an image)

B. Thesis: Patriotism is speaking out when a person feels the country is right or wrong, voting, campaigning, and respecting others.

II. Body

A. Speaking out when country is wrong

1. Vietnam

2. Slavery

3. Women’s right to vote

B. Speaking out when country is right

1. Afghanistan

2. Health care

C. Voting

1. Making a choice based on one’s needs

2. Being involved in the voting process

D. Campaigning

1. Finding a candidate who represents country’s needs

2. Barbara Boxer from California

E. Respecting others

1. Paying taxes.

2. Respecting others’ points of view

3. Arab-American prejudice after 9/11.

III. Conclusion

A. Review of patriot as protestor, voter, and respectful citizen.

B. Closing attention getter: return to introduction’s image of patriot

III. Writing the definition essay

A. Make sure that you have a good, specific thesis that tells readers just how you will define the term.

B. Follow your outline to remind yourself when you need examples and analysis of those examples.

1. Modify your outline when you think you need to.
2. Remember not to paragraph based on your outline’s points.

C. Use good, specific examples to illustrate each point.

1. Examples allow readers to visualize how the definition can be applied.

2. You may need to do research to find good examples.

D. Provide good transitions to link all parts of the essay.

E. Have a good conclusion that brings the parts of the definition together and leaves readers with an image of how the definition is applied.

F. Proofread carefully.

Immune Response Mechanisms Analysis

Immune Response Mechanisms Analysis

(Immune Response Mechanisms Analysis)

The immune response involves recognizing pathogens through antigens, activating immune cells like T and B cells, and producing antibodies. Innate immunity provides immediate defense, while adaptive immunity offers long-term protection. Key mechanisms include inflammation, phagocytosis, and memory cell formation for faster future responses.

Case Study 2

Case Study 2  Innate and Adaptive Immunity  Melissa is a 15-year-old high school student. Over the last week, she had been feeling tired and found it difficult to stay awake in class. By the time the weekend had arrived, she developed a sore throat that made it difficult to eat and even drink. Melissa was too tired to get out of bed, and she said her head ached. On Monday morning, her mother took her to her doctor. Upon completing the physical exam, he told Melissa the lymph nodes were enlarged in her neck and she had a fever. He ordered blood tests and told Melissa he thought she had mononucleosis, a viral infection requiring much bed rest.

1.Innate and adaptive immune defenses work collectively in destroying invasive microorganisms. What is the interaction between macrophages and T lymphocytes during the presentation of antigen?

2.Melissa’s illness is caused by a virus. Where are type I interferons produced, and why are they important in combating viral infections?

3.Humoral immunity involves the activation of B lymphocytes and production of antibodies. What are the general mechanisms of action that make antibodies a key component of an immune response?

Assignment Requirements:  Before finalizing your work, you should:

Strategies For Decision Making3

Strategies for Decision Making3 – Week 2 Assignment

(Strategies For Decision Making3)

Effective decision-making strategies are essential for personal and professional success. Here are key strategies:

  1. Define the Problem: Clearly identify and articulate the issue at hand. This provides a focused framework for finding solutions.
  2. Gather Information: Collect relevant data from credible sources. This includes quantitative data, expert opinions, and feedback from stakeholders.
  3. Generate Alternatives: Brainstorm multiple potential solutions. Encourage creative thinking to explore a wide range of options.
  4. Weigh the Evidence: Evaluate the pros and cons of each alternative. Consider the short-term and long-term implications, risks, and benefits.
  5. Make a Decision: Choose the best alternative based on the evaluation. Trust your judgment and the data gathered.

Constructing Deductive and Inductive Arguments

Arguments consist of premises and conclusions. Premises are structured so as to lend support to conclusions. The kind of support that a premise lends to a conclusion allows us to distinguish between deductive and inductive arguments. This week, you will be constructing both kinds of arguments.

1.  In three premises each, construct one example of each following deductive argument form:

·  Modus ponens

·  Modus tollens

·  Hypothetical syllogism

·  Disjunctive syllogism

Make sure your arguments are deductively valid and that your examples are your own. Here are two examples of the general format that your arguments should take:

Modus ponens:

1.  If it is raining, then it is pouring.

2.  It is raining.

3.  Therefore, it is pouring.

Modus tollens:

1.  If Jack went to the grocery store, then he bought cookies.

2.  Jack did not buy cookies.

3.  Therefore, Jack did not go to the grocery store.

2.  After you construct the preceding deductive argument forms, construct a three premise syllogism. For example:

1.  All men are mortal.

2.  Socrates is a man.

3.  Therefore, Socrates is mortal.

3.  After you construct a three premise syllogism, construct one of each of the following inductive argument patterns:

·  Induction by enumeration

·  Reasoning by analogy

·  Statistical induction

·  Higher-level induction

Your examples of inductive argument patterns should not be expressed in premise form. Rather, they should be informally expressed in writing. You should have one paragraph for each pattern. Be as detailed as possible.

Finally, please remember to label your arguments. This makes it easier for them to be graded. Include your name, course section, and the date at the top of your assignment document.

Pro-Eating Disorder Website Analysis

Pro-Eating Disorder Website Analysis

(Pro-Eating Disorder Website Analysis)

PROF SCRIPT WK 9 Responses

ERespond to at least two colleagues who identified a different pro-eating disorder website. Compare the two sites identified by your colleagues and if you see a pattern in the ways the websites approach this subject. Does there seem to be a predominant theory that is supported in these websites?

Colleague 1: Brooke

According to the DSM-5, the diagnostic criteria for determining the presence of an eating disorder includes the consistent disruption of daily functioning, due to eating behaviors that adversely affects both psychological and physical health (APA, 2013).  Combatting an eating disorder can be a lifelong process, requiring consistent support through a variety of means.  Research supports the efficacy of group work, as well as individual counseling (Peebles, Wilson, Litt, Hardy, Lock, Mann and Borzekowski, 2012).  Additionally, in this age of technology, internet sites can be accessed quickly and easily, offering another means of gaining information and support for those plagued with an eating disorder.

(Pro-Eating Disorder Website Analysis)

However, not all of the accessible websites provide the support geared toward regaining a healthy lifestyle.  On the contrary, there are – unfortunately – pro ana (anorexia) or pro mia (bulimia) websites that were designed specifically for individuals who want to maintain their unhealthy eating habits, and have access to support to do so with these websites (Peebles, et. al., 2012).  Although within the past decade many of these websites have been removed from the internet, there are still some that remain.  For example, http://www.myproana.com, claims to be a website providing support for individuals who need to come and “meet” with others sharing similar challenges, yet upon closer examination, it is clear that there is no motivation from its followers to regain their health (Helser and Jacatout, 2003).  Rather, there was rather disturbing images of girls posting pictures of their naked bodies, often accompanied by their weight; clearly, the lower the number, the prouder of themselves these girls – and other members – became.  In one particularly frightening account, one member captioned her photo of her 72 lb. body with “Please comment below.  Fat shaming welcome to provide motivation” (Helser and Jacatout, 2003).  The website included tabs for chat rooms (to which I did not have access), photo gallery, and a member profile section.  This website perpetuates the criteria established by the DSM-5.  This consistent support in pro eating disordered behavior allows for the disorder to pervasively remain in the individual’s life, affecting both their psychological and physical health.

(Pro-Eating Disorder Website Analysis)

Fortunately, there are more recovery websites on the internet, designed to provide consistent support to individuals truly trying to regain their emotional and physical health.  Recovery Ranch, www.recoveryranch.com, is an inpatient program that provided mental health rehabilitation to women diagnosed with eating disorders, drug and/ or alcohol addiction, personality disorders and sexual addiction or intimacy issues (Drug & Mental health Treatment Center, n.d.).  Their informational website, however, has several links to provide this support through the internet, including blogs, chat threads, information regarding community based resources, and diagnostic tools to gage individualized success.  The website explores several methods of combatting negative, harmful perceptions, including cognitive behavioral therapies, dialectical behavioral therapies, individual counseling, fitness and wellness promotions and adventure therapy (Drug & Mental health Treatment Center, n.d.).  There is strong advocacy for ongoing, consistent intervention to ensure the most positive outcomes.  The underlying mission of this program, as evidenced by the website, is to promote the emotional and physical well being of all individuals working toward the betterment of their life.  All accessible messages found throughout the website, were rooted in hope, positivity and health.

Colleague 2: Pasha

The DSM represents the behaviors and symptoms of people dealing with eating disorders. Per the DSM, there are four major eating disorders, with several other serious illnesses and disturbances. The earlier an eating disorder is detected, the better chances of recovery. Research indicates that approximately 10% of the young women population meet the DSM criteria for some form of an eating disorder (Stice, Marti & Rohde, 2013). Although the DSM-IV eating disorder diagnoses were an improvement over time, there are still over half of clients who fall under the ED-NOS criteria (eating disorder, none otherwise specified). The new criteria in the DSM has only been recently proposed and upgraded, but still carries unanswered questions about these diagnoses. For example, there is limited data on whether the newly proposed disorders can be linked to functional impairment (Stice, Marti & Rohde, 2013).

The website that I chose to study this week is from a website that explores cyberspace as a site in which women who are struggling with eating disorders can find sanctuary from the surveillance of public sphere (Dias, 2003). This literature indicates that one in five women have suffered from some sort of eating disorder and that anorexia is the third most common chronic illness among adolescents (Dias, 2003). This website further supports the criteria and narratives of eating disorders per the DSM. Both this website and the DSM indicate that most all eating disorders are stated as “recurrent or persistent disorders”. Additionally, these disorders typically occur every two hours. The stigma and shame that come with both diagnostic labeling and society’s misunderstanding of eating “disorders” contribute to women’s need to find creative ways to connect and find support (Dias, 2003).

In regards to recovery websites for those struggling with eating disorders may find helpful is one written by Ann Hull with the SMART Recovery/ Hull Institute. This website hosts online meetings, forums, 24/7 chat, recovery journals and more. This website stresses how “disordered” eating’s are complicated and difficult to overcome. What women or men can find helpful out of this website is the ability to discuss their issues in a safer and less confronting space. For many women, their bodies have become “arenas for feelings” for dealing with unresolved traumas, abuse, injustices and more (Hull).

This website offers “SMART” recoveries for eating disorders and addictions. Here, building and maintaining motivation, coping with urges, managing thoughts and feelings and living a balanced life are the goals and future outcomes with this website. Eating disorders are like other addictions because, without treatment, they will get worse and often result in death (Hull). Up to half of people with substance abuse addictions also have eating disorders. Anyone who is seeking recovery knows how easy it is to change one’s addiction; from drugs, gambling, spending etc. The notion of “ethical” Internet research is a current and ongoing topic of debate. The Internet provides many ambiguous areas in terms of what constitutes ethical research of widely accessible material. Because many on-line sites are openly accessible to the public, obtaining informed consent is often not done. However, care needs to be taken to exercise that the “fair use” of contributions to public forums respects participants’ privacy and protects them from harm (Verstuyf et. al, 2013).

Respond to a colleague who chose a different political strategy than you. Offer a supportive insight based on your own experience as a social worker and/or policy advocate.

Colleague 1: AnnaVi

COLLAPSE

Creating a political strategy that protects revictimization for individuals like Susana, Levy and Bradley family requires skillful policy advocates that use policy practice skills to bring attention to the strategy but keep it going (Jansson, 2018). For girls like Tiffany who has had prior arrest records, I would devise a policy to have her criminal record of prior prostitution arrest be expunge and permanently removed from her record. If the new policy states that Tiffani is a victim, then all arrest/charges associated with prostitution should also be expunged and removed from her record (Laureate Education, 2013). Therefore the strategies that I would utilize to bring attention to this matter is to partner up with a big organization, specifically those that work with trafficking in hopes for receiving support and sponsors. Jansson (2018) states that policy advocates will need to locate sponsors that support the proposal. During this point, the policy advocate will write a policy brief to gain support of sponsors by providing recommendations and the overall position of the advocate. The reason for this strategy is to have allies and supporters of the proposal. According to McNutt (2011), advocates partner up with big, small and grass root organization for access to resources, support and funding. I chose this strategy because there is strength in numbers, if the policy strategy is well supported, backed up by sponsors, state officials and organizations, there is a likelihood of getting attention and consideration to pass the proposal.

Assignment 1: Product Development

Assignment 1: Product Development

(Assignment 1: Product Development)

Question description

Assignment 1: Product Development

Health services continue to affect the gross domestic product, and this dramatic transformation has great demands on each dollar spent to deliver patient-centered products. Health care marketing must be repeatedly applied and practiced strategically to include environmental dimensions, such as technology, socioeconomics, competition, and regulatory.

That being said, in today’s global economy, investors and potential entrepreneurs must tap into the so-called “unexplored” market. In this aspect, health care establishments must utilize marketing, advertising, as well as sales strategies when pursuing new customers (e.g., suppose a health care investor wanted to build a small hospital in a rural community); this would entail exploration and logistical experimentation to determine who will patronize the facility. In an impoverished neighborhood, the feasibility of having lucrative profits may see diminishing returns, and so the venture may be not worth the effort. Also, suppose that the potential investor wants to sell mosquito deterrents (e.g., bedside netting in malaria-infested regions of Asia or Africa); then it would be wise to investigate the number of beds that are actually in the village, and who would be willing to purchase them. These activities take into account the investor portfolio, as well as the feasibility of marketing and selling the product. Such exploration also examines competitors, cultural differences, and—most important—identification of the customer.

Identify a local health care establishment (e.g., hospital, rehabilitation center, emergency medical center) and determine its product development practices. Utilize concepts from previous weeks to substantiate information, as needed. You may develop the discussion based on the ideas presented here, but feel free to inject any salient marketing strategy that you believe might support your presentation.

Write a three to four (3-4) page paper in which you:

  1. Justify the purpose of the selected health care establishments’ product(s) / service (s) and their associated life cycle(s).
  2. Suggest one (1) strategy to improve the marketing mix of the selected health care establishment. Support your strategy by highlighting one (1) benefit of (1) portfolio analysis and providing two (2) examples that display differential advantages.
  3. Assess the importance of technology in providing patients with clear and accessible information about health care organizations and the product(s) / service(s) that they provide.
  4. Outline a survey to capture patients’ expectations regarding the delivery and / or accessibility of product(s) / service(s) identified.
  5. Use at least three (3) quality academic resources. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not qualify as academic resources.

Week 2 Project: assignment writing and pronunciation assignment.

  1. Please note this assignment is NOT to be written as patient case studies like in our discussion forum assignments, but is a medical department report where you tell me about the medical department with at least 10 diseases or disorders per department, at least 3 different medical tests used to diagnose patients, and at least 3 different medical procedures used to treat patients. READ the directions for the assignment and grading rubric very carefully. Remember that half of the assignment points are for the audio recording of the report as well, so you must also record your report by speaking into a recording device and submit it the assignment dropbox as well. Please look at the writing and pronunciation assignment advice/example I posted under announcements and emailed as well, so you do not have to revise the assignment.
PLEASE REFER to the following “EXAMPLE” to help give you an idea of how to write the descriptions of the other Medical departments.

PEDIATRIC CARE MEDICAL DEPARTMENT REPORT:

The pediatric department attends to mostly ambulatory patients. Our most common cases involve asthma, influenza, otitis media, constipation, appendicitis, and allergic rhinitis, in addition to various trauma cases mostly involving fractures such as simple fractures, complex fractures, and spiral fractures. Our physicians perform surgical procedures such as tonsillectomies, inguinal herniorrhaphy (inguinal hernia repairs), and appendectomies. For fractured bones, our surgeons perform surgical procedures such as external fixation, open reduction and internal fixation.

In the diagnosis of trauma cases we utilize our new CT scan and MRI facility, and we have recently added capacity to perform PET scans, which we use effectively to diagnose various early onset pediatric oncology cases such as osteoblastomas, and osteochondromas. A speciality group is being formed to diagnose and treat pediatric cardiology cases to include children with cardiac disorders such as congenital heart failure, cardiac valve abnormalities, ventricular septal defect, hypoplastic left heart syndrome, and tetralogy of fallot. Some of the cardiac tests utilized to diagnose these cardiovascular disorders are ECG, echocardiogram, cardiac stress test, coronary angiography and cardiac catheterization. Recently, our pediatric department identified a chronic lead poisoning case that presented only with lead colic. It was quickly recognized by our physicians who utilized the laboratory staff, who examined the patient’s blood sample in doing a complete blood count CBC and identified the stippled red blood cells, pathognomonic of lead poisoning.

References should be listed at the end of the assignment, even our book reference, and references should be cited too in APA format with author’s last names and year like this at the end of the sentences (Little, 2017).

Discussion Question Digital Development

Discussion Question Digital Development

(Discussion Question Digital Development)

Have you ever taken five minutes to check email and realize two hours later that you have been sitting on the computer reading websites or social media? This is not unusual these days for just about anyone. In getting ready for this Discussion, you kept a record of your interactions with digital technology and communications in order to measure the amount of time you spend in “cyberspace.” It is likely that the more time you have spent using digital technology, you have seen increased incidents of violations of cyber civility.

For this Discussion, you use the Tracking Template from this week’s Learning Resources where you collected your interactions with digital technology. Based on the interactions you collected, in this Discussion you consider the digital technologies in which you have interacted, along with how much interaction you have had. You also reflect on incidents of cyber civility.

To Prepare for this Discussion:

  • Consider the different types of digital technologies as well as communication technologies and the amount of interaction you have with these technologies
  • Review this week’s Learning Resources related to Cyber Civility and behaviors
  • Reflect on incidents of cyber civility you have witnessed during your interactions while using digital technology
  • Review the Tracking Template from this week’s Learning Resources and use it for this Discussion
  • Over a 24-hour period, use the Tracking Template to keep track of the digital technology and communication technologies you used and the amount of time you spent using them. Note: You will not be submitting your completed template.

Phase Three: Progress Blueprint

Phase Three: Progress Blueprint

(Phase Three: Progress Blueprint)

Revise and re-write

Identify and describe Phase Three distinctives features: purpose, goal, chief aim, role, and responsibility.

  • Purpose- The purpose of Phase Three is that I will make sure that Melissa is clear as to what she and I have decided that we are putting into action. She needs to know what and how she is going to move on with her next and future plans of moving forward with her life when she is not grieving. There are times when a counselee finds it easier to stay where they are (be it mad, sad, grieving). I want her to be successful with moving on and progressing with being happy.
  • Goal- The vision clarification that I have for Melissa is that I want her to know how to grieve successfully and know how to remember her friends in a loving manner. This is all a part of her grieving successfully.
  • Chief Aim-It is important for Melissa to learn how to grieve properly and execute properly how to handle her own problems before she can handle other people’s problems.
  • Role/Responsibility- The rapport that I want to continue building with Melissa is that I will still be here to listen when she has her good or bad days. During our sessions I will hear how her week went and how she handled her thoughts of her friends and how she decides to move past her thoughts those thoughts and focuses on what is happening in her life today. I will encourage her to smile and remember the good times that she shared with her friends but not to make her grieving take over her life. I will encourage her to grieve for a time but then move on and keep her friends as a memory. It will be my job to help Melissa have hope of a future where she can remember her friends as a good memory that she can share and think of. Maybe she can create a photo wall of her friends that she can look at when she feels the need to see them or talk with them. She can start by putting them in her bedroom. Then as she progresses she can move it into the hallway, then into the living room and then eventually into a photo album once she is able to function without seeing them on a regular basis. This will show her, her progress and enable her to see how far she has come and give her hope for future outcome on other successes. “This is small concrete steps that lead to small changes which eventually generate bigger changes (F.A.I.T.H.).”Briefly discuss the challenges you might face in Phase Three and identify/describe insights and /or techniques useful to maintaining forward progress.

(Phase Three: Progress Blueprint)

  • The challenges that Melissa might face in Phase Three are that at this point she may feel like she is done grieving and now she needs to be there for other people. I feel that at this stage she needs to understand that grieving takes time and must be done in a proper manner or it will hit people harder in later months. She may also feel that when she has a few good days or bad days that she that this is how all the others are going to be. I want to encourage Melissa to look deep inside herself and allow herself to feel what has happened to her. She has lost her friend and so far she has not showed any emotions. This has to affect her but she is just giving advice and remaining calm during the situation (Crossroads).

During the supportive feedback break, what portrait, definitions, key thought, assessments, insights, wise counsel, action steps, and biblical insights do you need to reflect upon as you assess progress?

I want Melissa to continue with biblical insight (Clinton & Hawkins, 2009, pg. 10) . It is important for her to understand how the Bible intertwines with real life. Therefore, I would have Melissa journal scripters that deal with hope. For example, Romans 12:12, I would give her the scriptures written on the top of a page and ask her to look them up and write them out. This would give her the chance to use her Bible and give her the chance to write out the scripture. I would then ask her to draw, paint, and color or take a photo what this verse looks like to her. This gives her the chance to visualize what the verse and give it a perspective. At the end of the session she would a photo album of hope that she and I would put together so that anytime she got down she could look at it and know how she views hope.

In the event relapse, resistance, and or sameness is encountered, identify and describe techniques beneficial to action plans timely execution.

If Melissa had a relapse I would encourage her through her hope journal. I would also encourage her though what I discussed in the first phase that I mentioned that I was concerned about with her not wanting to continue and I discussed that I would have Melissa sign an agreement for a certain amount of sessions. I would simply encourage Melissa to continue and let her know that I am there for her and let her know that we all get discouraged but I would like for her to continue with the sessions that her and I set up. I feel that just being there for her and letting her know that her and I set the sessions up for her sake would be encouragement enough for her to continue. If it was not then I would let her know that she did sign for a certain amount of time and I would want her to keep her word. If that did not work that I would ask her what she was missing that she felt the sessions were not giving her. There has to be a reason that she is giving up. Encouragement is my main focus.
