Communication may be described as the process by which information, understanding as well as perception are transmitted from one person to the other as an integral part of a relationship. In nursing, communication is significant and patient care needs to be improved continuously (Huber, 2017). After having the idea of improving patient, I would gather and collect data first from the published trials with the current literature which support innovation. The data I have collected I would compile it in a PowerPoint presentation that includes research information associated with the idea. Then in a staff meeting, I would present my idea. This will help me because my fellow colleagues would assist me to edit the finding and adding more information to make it perfect. I would also have some members to support me so that we can form a team. This team will join me on the board where the upper management will view the presentation. This makes the idea more realistic and only a few people can resist the change. I would present the information to the upper management verbally to ensure that the project importance is understood. I would use the corporate social responsibility model which is reproductive, standardization as well as consistency. Once the trial runs effectively, I would develop another presentation containing the stated problem and statistical research. This information can be presented using the visual graphs as well as employee accounts of experience to ensure that the idea sounds beneficial to staff, budget as well as patients (Jones, 2015). Giving visuals and the actual accounts from the employees are important when influencing the change.

Comment 2

Motivation is an essential part to everyday life, task completion and performance results. Two types of motivation to be discussed are intrinsic and extrinsic. “Intrinsic motivation is something internal, either primal (such as the need to eat) or learned (such as the knowledge of healthful eating). Extrinsic motivation is something external and may be both positive (such as rewards) or negative (such as punishment). Repeated exposure to extrinsic motivation may help create an intrinsic motivation. (Eggenberger, Sherman & Keller, 2014)

When dealing with intrinsic motivation and example that relates to me is that of knowledge of nursing skills. I placed a great deal of motivation into my everyday tasks as a nurse, from practicing proper infection control to medication management and administration. These tasks need to be completed and with precision at that. Extrinsic motivation is a little different, an example that pertains to be would be picking up overtime at work or covering shifts that need to be filled. Currently at my place of employment we are short staffed on our 11pm to 7am shift. My work is offering an incentive to those whom are willing to work of an additional $100 dollars per shift worked. This is a reward that motivated employees to pick up overtime and coverage.

“In any setting, high-performance work teams rarely occur naturally. They must be created and managed. To instill effective teamwork into health care, leaders need to recognize and emphasize its importance. They play a key role in helping a team develop the ability to collaborate effectively, build relationships and trust, innovate, and achieve results at a consistently high level.” ( Repovich, 2013) Characteristic that are essential are communication skills, team work ethics and motivation.

Identificating specific health-promotion topic

Identification of a specific health promotion topic, assignment help

(Identificating specific health-promotion topic)

Question description

The purpose of this assignment is to provide the student an opportunity to design a health promotion proposal specific to your role specialization.

Each student will write a scholarly paper that demonstrates graduate school level writing and critical analysis of existing nursing knowledge. The paper will be a minimum of 12 pages and maximum of 15 pages, using APA style.

There are multiple sections to the project. These include:

  1. Identification of a specific health promotion topic, along with a well-defined target population. This will be due in Week 1.
  2. Critically analyze the current literature related to this topic, which is due in Week 2.
  3. Create an intervention plan for the identified problem, which is due in Week 4.
  4. Create an evaluation plan for the intervention, which is due in Week 5, along with all other project sections.

The final project is due in Week 5 and will be composed of the above sections which you will adjust weekly based upon the feedback from your facilitator. All sections will be submitted in one document. Additional explanation for each section is provided in the relevant week’s directions.

Project-Specific Criteria:(Identificating specific health-promotion topic)

  • Clearly describe the health promotion/disease prevention problem specific to the target population.
  • Explain how the selected problem applies to advanced practice in the student’s role option.
  • Critically analyze the current literature related to interventions that address the problem related to communities from nursing, the sciences, and humanities.
  • Select an appropriate health promotion/disease prevention theoretical framework that applies to the problem.
  • Design an intervention to address the problem in the selected population/setting using appropriate epidemiological, social, and environmental assessments.
  • Design an evaluation plan to measure efficacy of the proposed intervention.

Choosing Your Topic

The frist step in the project is to identify a topic appropriate for a health promotion project. There are multiple areas to look for acceptable projects, such as the Health People 2020 site, The Institute of Medicine, Centers for Disease Control (CDC), National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR), Agency for Health Care Research and Quality (AHRQ), and current literature in the South University library. You may also want to look at the websites for professional nursing organizations who may also have listings of health promotion priorities.

If you have any difficulty in identifying the topic, please talk to your instructor. Once you are clear on the area of interest, narrow the topic to something that is specific and measureable. For example, if you are interested in the care of the elderly, you may want to focus on a project to lessen the fall rate for the elderly.

Week 1 Project Task:(Identificating specific health-promotion topic)

Prepare a proposal in the form of a two-page paper which describes a detailed plan for the project. By Friday, July 29, 2016, post your proposal to the W1: Assignment 3 Dropbox. The facilitator will give you feedback that may require you to revise and refine your plan.

Step 4: Part One-Organizing Managing Galaxy Toys’ Future

Read critically and analyze the following scenario:

Now, it is time for all production managers to begin the organizing process. Doing so requires that managers collect the people, resources, and capital to begin production in a way that will implement the short-term production goals and objectives set through planning. The deadline for production to begin is January 31, 2018. Christmas product shipping must start in July of 2018. The budget for each branch is $300,000 for the total production budget. Currently, the production staff includes a total of 124 employees per day shift and 91 at night per plant for a total of 215 employees. Most tasks are covered in both shifts. Current production and shipping personnel per task include:

Positions # of Day Shift

Workers

# of Night Shift Workers
Machine Operators 10 5
Machine Maintenance 3 5
Assembly Line Staff 75 60
Electronics Specialists 10 3
Packagers 10 5
Floor Supervisors 1 1
Production IT (computer machine) 1 1
Fork Lift Operators 10 10
Shipping Schedulers 1 0
Plant Maintenance 2 1
Administrative Support

Material Purchase/Secretary

1 0

To complete the Moon Mission to Jupiter’s Europa 1 project, it is projected that additional personnel are needed: Two 3D printer operators for the day shift and two for the night shift. Additionally, instead of having an on-call position for production IT, a full-time night position is needed.

The design and engineering department has provided the product specifications including materials, sizes, and 3D printers and one person per shift to produce the product. Trained personnel are needed for operating the 3D printers. The cost of one complete Moon Mission to Jupiter’s Europa 1 product is set at $7.65, which includes packaging. The 3D printers will produce the completely assembled piece including electronics and packaging in 7.36 minutes and will cost $6100 per printer. Trained personnel are needed to operate the printers.

Step 5: Assume the role of Itza Yu. Managing Galaxy Toys‘ Future

Task 1: Explain the role of a manager in the organizing phase of the POLC

Task 2: Identify and discuss five major issues with Galaxy, Inc. that Itza Yu must address in organizing the production floor for both existing production and the new project.

Step 6: Aligning People

Task 1: One of the areas of discussion that must be included in the organizing phase is that of aligning people to the task of production. Create an organizational chart that shows how Yu would organize the people and jobs on the production floor that aligns with the rest of the organization.

Task 2: Discuss why and how the organizational chart was created. This organizational chart will be used, as the template for the other branches within the organization, so be sure the structure of the production floor aligns with the organization of the company.

Step 7: Decision Making Authority

Task 1: Once you have created the chart, identify the decision making authority/flow for those individuals on the chart.

Task 2: Explain why the structure was chosen and how it best serves the decision making flow for the production floor and the company as a whole.

Step 8: Part Two-Leading Motivation Managing Galaxy Toys’ Future

Read critically and analyze the following scenario:

During the course of production older line staff and machine workers began to see the speed and accuracy for which the 3D printers made its product. An obvious concern began to surface among the workers. The workers began to ask, “Will I still have a job next year?” Morale of plant workers began to suffer. Itza Yu knows that this concern must be addressed and morale needs to be improved. As the manager, Yu know that the business must innovate to keep growing. How can Yu improve morale?

Step 9: Motivation

Task 1: Acting as Joyce Barnhart, what advice should she give to Yu. In discussing the advice, first identify the reasons for the morale problem and how motivation. Be sure to address change and the worker’s reaction to implementing change.

Task 2: Discuss the actual ideas and the specific ways Yu should take to motivate his existing employees that will build morale and keep production levels on track for the current contracts and the new project.

Step 10: Part Three-Control: Managing Galaxy Toys‘ Future

3A) Read critically and analyze the following scenario:

The following chart displays the results of the first year’s production of MMTJE1. The table was created from data supplied by the company’s entire production department managed by Keith as a means of controlling production output. It will be used by the VP in his evaluation of areas of improvement, change, or success to processes used by the production department in the production of MMTJE1. The chart describes the standard goal (identified as standard) set by the department and the result each branch obtained. A comparison of the standard to the results allows the reader to form conclusions about the success or failure of the production department to meet the goals envisioned by the company. It also allows the reader to recognize patterns from the data from which conclusions can be drawn as to the relationship between elements (e.g. cost expended vs time expended; those who spent more time had a higher cost).

Specifications Standard Toledo Dayton White Plains Huntsville Juarez
Cost 7.56 7.67 7.87 7.45 7.52 8.01
Time 7.36 7.32 7.46 7.31 7.32 7.59
Quality Control Problem Ratio (per 500 units) 1 2.5 4 1.5 1.75 8.75
Training Time (per hour) 30 35 38 45 48 25
Shipping Problems/Damage (per 10,000 units) 1 0.333 0.222 0.133 0.178 0.4
3D Problems (per 10,000 units) 0.2 0.25 0.286 0.111 0.1 0.4
Total Number of Pieces Produced per year 400,000 500,000 500,000 650,000 700,000 450,000

Answer the following required elements for Part Three-3A making sure that the facts of the scenario and the course readings support the reasoning of the answers provided.

Step 11: Standard Specifications

Compare the standard specifications data set with the results from each of the results for the five branches.

Step 12; Interpreting the Results Managing Galaxy Toys’ Future

Task 1: Interpret the results for the new product production chart above.

Task 2: Detail the areas that need improvement as well as those positive conclusions the data suggests.

Step 13: Corrective Action

Task 1: Define what “corrective action” means to the manager in the control function of the POLC.

Task 2: Do you suggest Keith take, if any, corrective action for this report.

Step 13: 3B): Managing Galaxy To</span>ys’ Future

Read critically and analyze the following scenario:

The next meeting of the long term planning team for Galaxy Toys is scheduled for next week. All the VPs will be there and a report must be given by all as to the viability of the “Moon Mission Jupiter’s Europa 1” toy roll out and the success or failure of the long term goals and objectives.

Keith reviewed his meeting notes with his branch managers when the production results came out. The managers seemed to all talk at once. Most all the managers seem to feel that the project was well worth the effort. It appears that many managers felt that training on the 3D printer in terms of repair and maintenance was the biggest problem. Mexico’s manager, Hernando Gonzalez, said that they lost their trained personnel to a software company and had difficulties finding replacements. The company who supplied the 3D printers provided initial training but follow up training thereafter proved a problem when personnel turnover increased. Gonzalez explained that there is a serious shortage of skilled IT personnel in Juarez. Consequently, finding qualified workers and keeping people without paying more than budget is a major problem. As a result, both the production and the IT departments are losing money. Getting a full time, IT night worker is impossible without a serious budget increase.

Answer the following required elements for Part Three-3B making sure that the facts of the scenario and the course readings support the reasoning of the answers provided.

Step 21: Prepare a report for Keith to present to the planning team

Managing Galaxy Toys’ Future

Task 1: Follow a Report Format.

  • Create a title page with title, your name, the course, the instructor’s name and date;
  • Introduction
  • Potential Concerns
  • Relationship Between Control Function and Long-term Planning
  • Recommendations

Task 2: Use the conclusions drawn from the chart in Part Two as well as Keith’s notes from the meeting (noted above) with the branch managers on the production results to identify at least three conclusions that have potential concern for the long-term future of the project and or company.

Task 3: Explain why and how each of the factors chosen would affect the future long-term strategic planning.

Task 4: Examine the relationship between the control process and long term planning as part of the explanation

Task 5: Offer recommendations for solutions that might be introduced along with the issues to the planning committee to address the implications of the factors chosen.

Step 22: Proofread the paper for spelling and grammatical issues, and third person writing.

  • Use the spell and grammar check in Word as a first measure;
  • Have someone who has excellent English skills to proof the paper;
  • Consider submitting the paper to the Effective Writing Center (EWC). The EWC will provide 4-6 areas that may need improvement.

Step 23: Submit the paper in the Assignment Folder.

Integrative Literature Review3

Integrative Literature Review3

(Integrative Literature Review3)

The primary goal of this literature review is to integrate concepts from four different content domains within the larger field of psychology. The four content domains should be chosen from previous coursework in this program. In this paper, students will review the findings in the individual empirical articles, organize the research in a meaningful way, evaluate the reliability, validity, and generalizability of the research findings, and present an integrated synthesis of the research that sheds new light on the topics within and across the four domains.  The result of a successful integrative literature review may be a significant contribution to a particular body of knowledge and, consequently, to research and practice. Therefore, before writing this literature review, substantive new research must be conducted via the Internet and within the Ashford University Library for each of the four chosen domains.

A minimum of six sources must be included for each of the four domains. Although content from literature reviews completed in prior courses within this program may be included, it may not constitute the total research for the individual domains addressed within this assignment. No more than four sources from previous literature reviews completed in this program may be utilized for this integrative review.  The headings listed below must be used within the paper to delineate the sections of content. These sections include the following: a clear introduction that provides a general review and organizes the research in a meaningful way; a discussion in which the evidence is presented through analysis, critique, and synthesis; and a conclusion in which the discussion is drawn together in a meaningful way, the claims of the introduction are brought to a logical closure, and new research is proposed.  Introduction

•Provide a conceptual framework for the review.

•Describe how the review will be organized. The questions below may be used to guide this section.

◦What are the guiding theories within the domains?

◦How are the domains connected?

◦Are there competing points of view across the domains?

◦Why is the integration of these domains important?

◦What is the history of these domains?

◦What are the related theories or findings?

•Describe how the literature was identified, analyzed, and synthesized

. •How and why was the literature chosen?

•What is your claim or thesis statement?  Discussion

•Provide the analysis, critique, and synthesis for the review.  Analysis

•Examine the main ideas and relationships presented in the literature across the four domains.

•Integrate concepts from the four different content domains within the larger field of psychology.

•What claim(s) can be made in the introduction?

(Integrative Literature Review3)

•What evidence supports the claim(s) made in the introduction?  Critique

•Evaluate the reliability, validity, and generalizability of the chosen research findings.

•How well does the literature represent the issues across the four domains?

•Identify the strengths and the key contributions of the literature.

•What, if any, deficiencies exist within the literature?

•Have the authors omitted any key points and/or arguments?

•What, if any, inaccuracies have been identified in the literature?

•What evidence runs contrary to the claims proposed in the introduction, and how might these be reconciled with the claims presented?

•Explain how the APA’s Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct might influence the reliability and/or generalizability of the chosen findings.

•Did the ethical issues influence the outcomes of the research?

•Were ethical considerations different across the domains?  Synthesis

•Integrate existing ideas with new ideas to create new knowledge and new perspectives.

•Describe the research that has previously been done across these domains, as well as any controversies or alternate opinions that currently exist.

•Relate the evidence presented to the major conclusions being made.

•Construct clear and concise arguments using evidence-based psychological concepts and theories to posit new relationships and perspectives on the topics within the domains.  Conclusion

•Provide a conclusion and present potential future considerations.

•State your final conclusion(s).

•Synthesize the findings described in the discussion into a succinct summary.

•What questions remain?

(Integrative Literature Review3)

•What are the possible implications of your argument for existing theories and for everyday life?

•Are there novel theories and/or testable hypothesizes for future research?

•What do the overarching implications of the studies show?

•Where should the research go from this point to further the understanding of these domains and the greater study of psychology?

Comparative Investment Analysis

Comparative Investment Analysis: Short vs. Long Term

(Comparative Investment Analysis)

Question description

Part 1: Min of 200 words

Use the Internet to research two (2) mutually exclusive investment projects to compare. The projects may involve any kind of investment, as long as the time frame for one (1) of the investments is a maximum of one (1) year (short term) and the time frame for the other investment is five (5) years minimum (long term).

Part 2: Min of 150 words

Analyze the reasons why the short-term project that you have chosen might be ranked higher under the NPV criterion if the cost of capital is high, while the long-term project might be deemed better if the cost of capital is low. Determine whether or not changes in the cost of capital could ever cause a change in the internal rate of return (IRR) ranking of two (2) projects.

Part 3: Comment and give your opinion on the statement below. Min of 100 word.

The short-term project is focused on the cash flow that most people can see with the eye. The immediate functions of the business are reflected in the short term. A company is most dependent on long term projects because this is the foundation of the business. The business that has just advertised and hosted a huge promotion that is going to bring in immediate spike in sales is the here and now of the company. The company will benefit and see it’s capital increase. The project or the credit line given to customers is going to bring the money back in plus interest. This is the Long-Term project that supports and provides long term security to any company.

Part 4: Comment and give your opinion on the statement below. Min of 100 word.

Net present value represents the increase or loss in value by taking on a project (Accounting Explained, 2018). There are many different factors that can affect the NPV of a short-term or long-term project. Factors such as the initial investment, timing of the project, and unplanned costs are just a few of the factors that can impact the NPV of a project. The higher the cost of capital for a project the more challenging it may be to justify investing in that project. This is where using the internal rate of return can help in deciding where a short-term or long-term project is justifiable. The internal rate of return is the measure of the rate of return of a project over its lifetime (Accounting Explained, 2018). If the cost of capital for a short-term project is high but the rate of return is even higher than the project might be deemed feasible. However if the short term projects cost is higher than the rate of return that project may not be feasible. The same can be true for a long term project. When comparing a short term and long term project the NPV and IRR are two measurements that can be used to determine which project is the most beneficial for the company. In an ideal situation for any company you would want the initial investment to be low, the rate of return to be high and the project complete in the most efficient amount of time.

Heritage Assessment

Heritage Assessment

The heritage assessment tool is a valuable instrument used to evaluate an individual’s cultural background and its influence on health beliefs, practices, and behaviors. It enables healthcare providers to deliver culturally competent care by understanding the unique perspectives and needs of diverse populations.

One significant aspect of the heritage assessment is its focus on three key areas: cultural beliefs and values, health traditions and practices, and communication styles. By examining these aspects, healthcare professionals can tailor their approach to patient care, ensuring it aligns with the patient’s cultural background and preferences.

Moreover, the heritage assessment promotes respect for cultural diversity and fosters a deeper understanding of the role culture plays in shaping health outcomes. It helps healthcare providers recognize potential barriers to care, such as language barriers or mistrust of Western medicine, and develop strategies to address them effectively.

LASA 1: Protecting Children From Media

Assignment 2: LASA 1: Protecting Children From Media

(LASA 1: Protecting Children From Media)

For his 10th birthday, Greg was given a handheld videogame system. His parents allowed him to pick any two games. They knew the games might contain violence, because there was a violence rating sign posted on the games, but rationalized that they were only games and other kids play them. Greg would quickly finish dinner and run up to his room to play his games.

His parents were pleased to observe that Greg enjoyed their present so much. After a week, his parents noticed that he wasn’t turning off the videogames at bedtime, and had begun turning homework in late. He was up so late playing that he would not get up for school without argument. His parents decided that enough was enough and took the video games away. Greg threw temper tantrums and persuaded his parents to buy him a computer after convincing them that it was necessary to keep up at school. Greg soon returned to the same pattern of behavior where he spent long hours and late nights at the computer. This time, his parents felt a false sense of security that he was doing his homework. One day, his curious parents decided to scan the computer history to see what Web sites Greg was browsing. To their horror, they discovered that Greg was spending many hours online playing interactive, sometimes violently graphic, games on the Internet. He was also chatting with other “gamers”. Before confronting Greg about his behavior, his mother and father agreed to investigate what types of intervention strategies might be available within their community. They have come to you, a behavioral consultant, for advice.

Click to Read the Kaiser Family Foundation Study: Generation M2. Media in the Lives of 8- to 18- Year Olds.

Describe the issue of exposure to videogame violence in today’s society as related to Greg’s situation. Explore issues such as:

  1. Prevalence (e.g., age, gender, racial diversity, etc.)
  2. Given Greg’s developmental level, what are possible dangers of exposure to media violence? Be sure to address this in the context of his cognitive and socioemotional development.
  3. Risk and protective factors, including predisposition to violence (e.g., are all children who play violent videogames likely to become more aggressive? What protective factors might mitigate the possible outcomes for Greg?
  4. Discuss the possible outcomes if Greg’s behavior continues unchecked.
  5. Discuss types of intervention strategies you would expect his parents to find at a community level, such as in community centers, schools, and social service agencies, to assist children like Greg who are at risk due to ongoing exposure to media violence.
  6. What would be a good plan to recommend to Greg’s parents?
  7. Compare the dangers of exposure to videogame violence with other forms of violence. What are similarities and differences between videogame violence exposure and the other type of violence you chose to compare?
  8. What are the costs of videogame violence to the family and the community and society at large and the other form of violence you chose for comparison?

By Wednesday, July 26, 2017, format your paper in APA (6th edition) style, using information you learned in your textbook and from the Kaiser Family Foundation Study to support your response.  Your paper should be between 4 and 5 pages in length. Include a cover page, abstract, and reference list, which should cite any information used from your assigned textbook, Kaiser Family Foundation reference, and other sources such as online course content.

The Prisoner’s Dilemma

Negotiating Self-Interest: The Prisoner’s Dilemma

(Balancing Self-Interest: Ethical Dilemmas)

(The Prisoner’s Dilemma)

The Prisoner’s Dilemma; What is in My Best Interest?

We learned in earlier discussions that according to Aristotle and Bentham, one’s happiness was the highest goal. Enter social contract. How does one ensure one’s self-interest when one has to compromise with another to achieve the goal? David Gauthier proposes that it is possible, offering the Prisoner’s Dilemma as an example.

According to the story of the Prisoner’s Dilemma, two people have been brought in for questioning, conducted separately, about a crime they are suspected to have committed. The police have solid evidence of a lesser crime that they committed, but need confessions in order to convict them on more serious charges. Each prisoner is told that if she cooperates with the police by informing on the other prisoner, then she will be rewarded by receiving a relatively light sentence of one year in prison, whereas her cohort will go to prison for ten years. If they both remain silent, then there will be no such rewards, and they can each expect to receive moderate sentences of two years. And if they both cooperate with police by informing on each other, then the police will have enough to send each to prison for five years. The dilemma then is this: in order to serve her own interests as well as possible, each prisoner reasons that no matter what the other does she is better off cooperating with the police by confessing. Each reasons: “If she confesses, then I should confess, thereby being sentenced to five years instead of ten. And if she does not confess, then I should confess, thereby being sentenced to one year instead of two. So, no matter what she does, I should confess.” The problem is that when each reasons this way, they each confess, and each goes to prison for five years. However, had they each remained silent, thereby cooperating with each other rather than with the police, they would have spent only two years in prison.

(Note: For additional information, you can read more about Gauthier by copying the URL into your internet browser. (http://www.iep.utm.edu/soc-cont/#SH2a). It will take you to the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy. The link takes you to the beginning of a great article on social contract. The outline at the beginning shows that the discussion on Gauthier and the Prisoner’s Dilemma is in the middle of the article, in the “More Recent Theories” section, following Rawls. Gauthier comments on the idea that the Prisoner’s Dilemma shows that it is in an individual’s best interest to cooperate, even when it means that they will give up some individual freedom.)

Assignment Requirements:

Write a 3-page (650-750 word) paper addressing the following questions:

  1. Consider the concepts of utilitarianism, egoism, and social contract. What moral theory—utilitarianism, egoism, or social contract—is consistent with coopering with the other prisoner and rejecting self-interest as the best option? What is the recommended course of action for each prisoner in regard to the other two theories?
  2. From your experience, is cooperation always in your best interest? Share an example. Alternatively, to state it negatively, why do selfish, self-centered people seem to prosper if cooperation is always in their best interest?

All written assignments and responses should follow citation rules for attributing sources. Please use Microsoft Word spelling/grammar checker before submitting your paper. Please remember that the plagiarism policy applies.

Perception Of Gender

Perception Of Gender

(Perception Of Gender)

I need this assignment completed by 10/11/17 12:00 pm aka 12 noon New York eastern time. Thank you

Gender, as a term and a social concept, has taken many different forms and meanings over time. Your personal experience and expression of gender may be reflective of your generation and the sociopolitical landscape during the influential development stages of your life.

This assignment will allow you to expand your knowledge base and support your acquisition of various expressions and experiences related to gender.

Select a person from a different generation than yourself. Schedule a thirty-minute interview with that person.

Using the module readings, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, research the evolution of the concept of gender over generations. Select at least two scholarly, peer-reviewed resources for use in this assignment.

During the interview, ask the following questions:

  • What does the term gender mean to you? How does it differ from sex?
  • How has gender played a part in the understanding of your role and responsibilities at home and at work?
  • How was gender conceived of when you were a teenager and what differences do you see in today’s youth regarding gender roles?
  • How was gender discussed in your household when growing up? If you have children, how have you communicated gender to them?
  • In your estimation, what has been the greatest accomplishment for your gender in achieving equality or equal footing regarding career and family advancement?

During your interview, be aware that the person’s responses could be reactions to the advancements of the opposite gender and the impact he or she experienced. An example would be men’s experiences of child rearing as more mothers enter and excel in corporate environments.

Complete the following:

  • Analyze the person’s ability to communicate about gender issues and the role gender has played in his or her life as a member of society.
  • Compare and contrast the person’s views on gender with those of your generation. Explain the reasons for the differences.
  • Integrate the interview responses throughout your narrative as necessary by summarizing them and utilizing quotes.

In your analysis, be sure to integrate ideas and concepts from your independent research as well as the module readings with your findings from the interview.

Write a 3-page paper in Word format. Apply APA standards to the formatting of your paper and the citation of sources. Remember to include a cover page and reference page in APA format. Use the following file naming convention: LastnameFirstInitial_M1_A3.doc. For example, if your name is John Smith, your document will be named SmithJ_M1_A3.doc.

By the due date assigned, deliver your assignment to the Submissions Area.
